Sometimes, I wish they keep a translation of the original title instead. Compare "Let Bagons Be Bagons!" with "Fly Bagon! Towards the Future!". I dunno...

I would love to see what kind of a process they have, finding puns for christening the next dubbed episode.

What other memorable (or just bad) dub titles do you all have?

I'm just like Lisa, I really love the puns in the episode titles, some maybe really cheesy but they often get me to laugh XD

Hummm, lets think of some random ones off the top of my head:

Good Quil Hunting
Stariway to Devon
Beauty and the Beach
Beauty and the Breeder
Turning over a New Bayleef
Entei at your own Risk
Address Unown
Berry, Berry, Interesting

I was wondering, is there anywhere that lists the episode titles and what they're a pun of? (*Since most are usually puns*) I think it would be a good collection to have somewhere so it can point out if it's a pun on a movie/song/musical title, or just a random saying ect. :3

As much as some aren't completely rubbish, I don't really see how you could find any of them funny, lol.

Even the best ones are still as funny as being hit in the face with a brick.

Though I wonder if 4Kids tries too hard with the titles sometimes, I love 'em all the same.
 
Rage of Innocence. One of the Red Gyarados episodes. I don't think it had anything to do with the episode, and I don't know if it was an obscure reference, but it's the coolest title ever.

Also, any classic rock reference, and The Mother of All Battles. In an episode full of fun with cliches, a title that IS a cliche. It made my inner English dweeb squeal with glee.

Well, they are probably just more funny to me than they are to you. And actually, I just really like the fact that they're all puns. Also, if I get what the puns are referencing to, they are even more funny.

Of course, another reason why I like the puns is because that makes it easier to remember the episode titles. And I have memorized all the dub titles, by the way.

Anyway, if they kept the Japanese titles, it would be harder (for me, I mean) to remember them just because those are more like a little description of what happens in the episode than just titles. I don't think the title of an episode should be quite that long, lol. If anything, I like titles that are more funny and creative. XD

Have you ever heard of WWI refered to as "the loss of the age of innocence"?

As for my personal opinion, I really don't care either way about dub titles most of the time.

Even then, the title comes off really poetically and nicely.

Actually it was because of the Red Gyarados going on it's Rage despite being an innocent victim in the events that had led it to do so.

That arc is one of my favourite parts ever of Johto too, lol.
 
My favorite dub title is Same Old Song and Dance not because I like the pun but because I like the way it sounds when said fast. It reminds me of crickets and tree frogs chirping. I dont know why.
And I know it's not a pun but Just Waiting on a Friend sounds so sweet to me.
I still miss the no-nonsense Kanto titles like "Ash Catches a Pokemon" and "Pokemon, I choose you!"

The first half of Indigo are all direct translations of the Japanese titles.
