I've been watching the first movie since 1999 but I just noticed a problem with it. We all know someone flew on a Pidgeot's back, someone else rode on a Gyarados's back, and the other one rode on a Dewgong's back. But I just noticed, if you watch the scene closely, there was a fourth person for a second riding on a Fearow's back. Has anyone else noticed this?

I didn't notice it until you mentioned. But yes the Fearow-rider appears very briefly in two shots. I wonder what's the story behind that..

I seen that and if you see the producers take, they found that out too and one say that it is a kid that did not make it to the island.

Yep, that's what I thought too. Seems a bit of a mundane explanation though, why would they go to all the trouble of designing and animating the kid if it was just a generic person who didn't make it to the island? Is this the english DVD commentary?

Maybe they had a role similar to the two other trainers, but they were cut, and leaving them in that one scene was an oversight? I dunno.

Well, wouldn't it be a bit boring if everybody who set out for the island made it there? I was kinda hoping there would be more who started their journey through the storm, but didn't make it.

I got the movie when it came out. It is an extra on the DVD at that time.
