Made a shiny hunting bingo sheet for 2026!
Some explanations:
-the HeartGold hunts are for my ongoing Badge Quest in that game. The order I'll go in is Umbreon, then Ho-Oh, and then Houndour. I'll still have more to do after this, too...
-all of the spaces featuring Uika's head (the entire bottom row and Sprigatito) are for a headcanon of mine as to what team she would have if she were in Pokémon
-the spaces featuring miscellaneous characters (A1, A2, A4, A5, B2, B4) were chosen by my friends!
-Meltan is in here, but there's no guarantee Niantic will bother to release its shiny next year again, given they skipped 2025 in favor of Gimmighoul. I'm just gonna hope they drop the shiny again...
-The Zubat in D5 is a Fossil Conversion hunt in Generation I! More info here, courtesy of fellow forum user and dear friend @terashards ! Thank you for the tool!
What shiny hunts are the rest of you looking forward to embarking on next year? Please let me know!

Happy New Year! Update time!
I wasted no time before jumping into working on my shiny hunting bingo for this year! It might have taken me forever, but I finally finished the Sword and Shield dexes in HOME! This means that I finally have my own Shiny Keldeo. The grind was kind of dreadful, honestly, but it's done now... and that's the first square on my sheet filled out!
I also got a shiny Snover while looking for a Stunky for said dex, which wasn't in my living dex yet. Happy to add a rare SwSh shiny to the collection.
Finally, I did another GO transfer, which added the Alolan Vulpix line, Perrserker, and Galarian Weezing to my dex. In summation, this puts the total at 364/1049 shinies!

Quick update! I've been shiny hunting a lot lately but my luck has not been agreeing with me, so I've only done a GO transfer recently. Here's hoping that changes soon...

My shiny drought is finally... finally... over!
Just now, I found the second Shiny Pokémon on my bingo sheet: A Blue Core Minior, for my Uika team! It even came with a mark!
Finding this thing was kind of a nightmare. I wanted a Blue Core Minior specifically, to reference Sakiko, who is very important to Uika. Originally, I thought Minior only spawned in Chargestone Cavern, and that the core colors were random, so I braced myself for brutal RNG... plus, the way you have to hunt Minior in Scarlet and Violet isn't as easy as most other Pokémon. Due to its shell being the same color no matter what, you have to use Auto Battle to knock them out, as your Pokémon will refuse to attack any shinies.
But... after the third yellow Minior, I started to question my understanding of Minior's spawning mechanics. So, I went on Bulbapedia to check, and lo and behold, 99% of the Minior who spawn in Chargestone Cavern are the yellow ones! So, after moving to the Polar Biome mountain (and going through two sandwiches...), there it was! My Blue Core Minior that I needed!
This is my second slot on my bingo sheet. Here's hoping I keep up the pace in the following months, because January's been rough so far...!

...yeah, my luck's back.
I really didn't expect to get another shiny today, let alone a Masuda method one. Eggs hate me usually; this might be my first egg hunt that goes well ever, despite me hunting for over a decade now! I got this shiny in only 54 eggs, which is really, really fast. I named him Fabula (Latin for "play"), due to the masquerade theming, and I got him the Effort Ribbon, since "Well-Trained" feels fitting for Uika, who is known for always hiding behind her mask nearly perfectly, to the point that nobody truly knows her true self...
I'm also going to update the encounter number for the Gen 4 Eevee hunt, as well as add the ongoing Shuppet hunt to the Gen 6 section. I've been on those all month, but I keep forgetting to update that section of the blog, lol

Here's my Destiny Mark shiny for this year: Shiny Amped Form Toxtricity! I chose this target because it was one of the members of the Uika theme team, and the title of "the Chosen One" felt fitting for the Pokémon that represents her musical career, which she chose to take on to get closer to her goals. Though, despite the nickname (meaning "Stolen Hope", as this was not her dream to begin with) and the title indicating a sort of detachment or reluctance, the Luxury Ball and the mark's graphic could indicate a different opinion...
With this catch, I have filled in two slots at once on my bingo sheet! Talk about efficiency. Plus, I phased on a few Toxels on the way to finding this one, so that's another entry for the living dex, bringing its total to 376/1049!
