Probably a longshot, but... anyone else going to see Michael Jackson's This Is It?

I'm getting my ticket in advance tomorrow (he's not THAT popular where I live). I'll probably make it a birthday present for myself. As a child I really wanted to go to a Michael Jackson concert, and seeing how he's, you know, dead, this is probably the next best thing.

This Is It - Because if Michael Jackson was Alive Today, He'd Want Us to Exploit His Death for Cash

I will be seeing it, though, as This Is It did seem destined to be an amazing show... even if this flick is more about making money, and much less about "fulfilling MJ's dream".

Not to mention, part of the contract Sony signed stated "Under the terms of the proposed contract, the film will have to be screened for Jackson’s estate and cannot include any footage that puts the superstar in a bad light.", so don't expect a truthful look into how MJ really ran his show... I seriously doubt he never lost his cool, what with his perfectionism.

So this is basically a MJ-pandering/money-making vehicle... but it could end up being an entertaining MJ-pandering/money-making vehicle... we all know there have been horrid ones (See: Moonwalker)

I don't know man, but if he was alive today I'm sure he wouldn't be to upset about getting more money.

Yeah, I considered how it's all exploiting his death to make cash... but the urge to see what This Is It could've been like is stronger than my morals. @_@

I got a movie poster with my advanced ticket. I think I want to frame it.

I've never been so jealous in my life.

Anyone ever been to a Jackson concert?

My father has been to one. I am not much into music anyways.

Not much into any music. Although I like to listne to Heal The World.

My cousin wanted to go see the movie. I'll pass, though.

I was at one in spirit. =P lol My mother has gone to one. The 1984 one. The Victory tour one. I still wonder who was babysitting me at the time when she and my aunt went to that concert and my dad probably would've been at work (since he had a night job).

I've only seen concerts on DVD. I like the one he did for Bad Tour when in Yokohama back in '87.

Heal the world.
Make it a better place.
For you ande for me
And the entire human race.

Ahem, I mean,

I will see the movie if it's the last thing I do!

I am a HUGE fan of his music. My favorite MJ song is Man In the Mirror, Billie Jean, Thriller, and Beat It.

I dont think this movie will be on my list of things Im going to see.
I really think they should let the guy rest in peace and not exploit him for cash anymore.

hell no. if fact, i never got why so many people want to go. people HATED him before he died, and now he's a new jesus. i don't understand it...

that

It's why the whole publicity thing after he died annoyed me. I was a huge fan before and after he died, and everyone is freaking out about it and trying to make a quick buck off of it.

Shit would suck if that happened to you after you died, no?

I want to see it, but I'll probably wait for it to come out on DVD.

And that's because of several reasons:
1. I've no clue where if it's being shown anywhere near where I live (kinda live in a small town)
2. I'm the only one in my family that would want to see it.
3. The publicity of MJ's death and everything about his family is bumming me out.

So I'll wait and see it when it comes out to avoid the chaos of crazy fans going to see the movie for the umpteenth time.
