I knew someone was going to give him a chance. I think he deserves a second chance because he did his time. Kinda surprised it was the Eagles though. They have a pretty good backup in A.J Feeley.

Surprised to see him get picked up by Philadelphia. . . glad to see him end up somewhere, I suppose, but I wouldn't have cared either way.

Recently, I haven't been following sports like I used to (as a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and Cincinnati Reds, the baseball and football seasons haven't been something to look forward to in quite some time), so I doubt I'll be paying attention to the Eagles much at all. . . other than their week 3 game against Kansas City.

Great pick up by the Iggles. Vick has been doing and saying all the right things PR-wise lately, and his talent is unquestioned.

McNabb and he are pretty good friends too, and if they use him creatively he can be a very nice player for them. As a Vikings fan, I'm kind of mad a fellow NFC contender got Vick.

I don't care. I'm just glad he finally signed somewhere so they can stop talking about him on SportsCenter.

I REALLY wanted the Seahawks to get him...

Aww well, I hate the Eagles so I guess it all works out haha.

He porbably won't do as well now that he's been in prison that and my friend is a cowboys fan and the last thing they need is the entire leadue against them

I didn't like the dog fighting that he was involved in at all. I'm for animals more than I am humans most of the time. He did serve his time, without complaints, so I say let him play. I think people, in general, should just stop arguing whether it is right for him to play again or not, because it is whether anyone likes it or not. Now, if he were to participate in such a heartless act once more, I would abandon my support for his case. I do think he should have been imprisoned longer than a mere 1.5 years.

THE BROWNS SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN HIM! But nooooooo, the idiots here in Ohio didn't step up and say anything, even though we need all the help we could've gotten.

well our legal system is really screwed up. I mean Dante Stallworth, another football player, killed a man while driving drunk, and only went to jail for 30 days. The point I'm making is that while many people think that he should have served a longer sentence, that's not what the judge decided and that people shouldn't hold it against Mike. He served his time, and he has a right to get back on the field and try to rebuild his life.

=Oh, don't forget, that he spells his name "Donte". *Rolls eys*

But of course. Whatever happened, did happen, therefore pointless to dwell on. But what did happen with Stallworth is a little unforgivable, both unforgiving to the judge who sentenced him and his involuntarily murderous act.

Whoa, you're from Cleveland?

No one should have taken him. Nothing can be done now, which is a damned shame.

Vick paid his debt to society. Just let the man live in peace. I'm not condoning what he did, but it's unfair for us to hound him about it for the rest of his life. Let's judge Vick as a football player now not as a felon.

Would you say the same thing if he had commited some crime against a human? Say, raping a child? Or are all those laws regarding released sex offenders just hounding by the rest of society?

Let's judge Vick as a football player now not as a felon.

How many released felons get the chance to resume their careers and get paid millions of dollars?

He didn't, though.

All his case and many others do are prove that the system in this country leave much to be desired.

If he was truly sorry then yes. There are few crimes that are unforgivable and even then as a person you can't hold a grudge. I'll use this quote, "To err is human, to forgive divine." People make mistakes and it isn't fair to brand them as a bad person for the rest of their life. If Vick makes a concerted effort to stop animal cruelty then, I will forgive him as we all should. Also, it isn't his fault that he is a talented football player and that is his means of making money.

I pose a counter question to that. How many convicted felons can run a 40 yard dash in under 4.5 seconds and can throw a football over 60 yards?

The point here is that not many convicted felons have a chance to get paid millions because not many convicted felons have talents worth that much money. Vick does.

I suppose he just couldn't understand that. xD

Dog fighting is a felony, so yeah it was a highly egregious and despicable choice he made.

That being said, he did his time and has said and done EVERYTHING right since getting out of prison. People are so quick to shrug off Vick's good behavior and repentance as simply an act...but if he truly did learn his lesson and is truly sorry, then I think he deserves a second chance without question.

Two years in prison would definitely would make me reevaluate my life. Perhaps it has done so for Vick. Until he proves me wrong, I'm behind the decision to give Vick a 2nd chance.
