Just when we felt safe in the Midwest... a nasty tornado comes and causes a bunch of damage.
Am I the only one who feels like nowhere is safe anymore?

Tornadoes can hit any place in the US at ANY time (although certain areas are more prone, and within those areas, certain ones are more prone at certain times). The only horrifying part of the storm was that it hit at 2 AM, when MOST people were asleep and couldn't get away.

Exactly what I meant. The Midwest is prone to the big "we're not in Kansas anymore" type tornados. I wasn't saying the rest of the country wasn't at risk.

There was a tornado a few miles away from where I live years and years ago and I'm in southern New York where tornadoes are a joke.
