Might Ash Return to the Indigo League?

Ok, if I recall, the Indigo Plateau confrence is annual but there's no, at least state rule to my knowledge that you can only compete once. So is it possible Ash might eventually return to compete in it again? I mean there are some story lines in the games that were never completed in the show, like Ash has never actuelly battled Giovanni and Fire Red and Leaf Green added some new locations and events. That and it'd give the chance to get Misty to appear again. So do you guys think this is possible and would you enjoy it if it happened?

Well, he would have to collect all the badges again right? But this will not happen.

First of all, Misty is no longer important. The new generation of viewers is here, and half of them don't know who she is, aside from the lure in Buizel Your Way Out of This!.

Second of all, Ash would have to earn the badges all over again, and why would he, really?

Third, there is a new battle frontier located in Johto, thanks to HGSS and D/P/Pt. It's far more likely Ash will do the battle frontier in Johto, if we go to Johto. We may see a few new events, but those were from Gen III, and we are in Gen IV now.

If I recall correctly you don't have to collect again 8 badges to participate. Unlike Grand Festival, when you must acquire ribbons one more time...But correct me if I am mistaken.

Anyway: I don't see a purpose for Ash to return to the Johto League...so it's highly unlikely

Oops! I meant to put the original confrence! My bad! I meant returning to the Indigo Plateau Conference!
 
The Indigo league became the Kanto Grand Festival.

As for Giovanni/TR, they could resolve that in any other region.
 
I see, however, I'd still like to see Ash go to seven islands, I can't remember their names, but I'm sure the writers could think up something creative for it.
 
If they were going to do that, don't you think they would have covered it last generation? They completely skipped over it, which shows the writers have no interest in it.

FR/LG was part of Gen III, its extremely old news now.

Now, I think that it is quite likely that Ash would go back. What goes around comes around. He should finish his time on the show by winning the Pokemon League of Tohjo.
 
Unless the anime is ending, and I mean ending ending, series finale ending, and the writers have time to plan out the final saga of the show (a show that goes on as long as Pokemon will go on will get an ending, if I'm wrong name me an example of a show that goes on over a decade and doesn't get and ending when it ends), then he won't go back to the Indigo League until that time, which could be years from now.

Oh, and he doesn't have to go an recollect the badges, they aren't ribbons.
 
Ash is likely never going to re-do Indigo. I have no idea why people think they will do this.

The only remote chance for this to happen was when FR/LG came out, but back then they were too busy covering the Emerald Brains.
 
Well, um, in case you didn't realize this Scott, the Indigo League is back in the latest games.
