Yes, actually you see Mike (Mihopa) had all the accounts for free linux hostees in a server. Many people started misusing their accounts by using too much bandwidth, too much system resources and they also started using CGI forums which is not allowed for free hostees. Therefore, the server was over-used and Mike bought a new server running on linux. However, to find out who were the people who were really using their accounts for a genuine purpose, he moved very few accounts to the new server. The people who genuinly use Mihopa had to PM him on the forums with their UserID, password, etc and they got their accounts.

This way, he could see who were the ones who continued to use their account. You moved to JK hosting and were not in Mihopa's forums at all. So all you have to do is, PM Mike (mhphs) with your username, password and subdomain and you will get it back.

Well, now that I moved to JK's hosting I don't really need Mihopa anymore but I just wanted to know what happend. Thanks.

I'm a little wary of Mihopa, because they require you to PM your password to the admins for stuff. That shouldn't be necessary.

Well, not neccessarily! If you have MSN Messenger(who doesn't), you can give your username and password to the admins that way. Anyway, personally I feel PM's are more secure than sending the data in a form or an email. The only people who can read it are only the forum admins.

BTW, I have been promoted to "Administrator" in Mihopa.

Nono, I mean the admin shouldn't need to have your password at all. They should be able to administrate all accounts from the root account.
 
Also, once you get your account, why can't you just go into cpanel and change your password? That is what I did when I got my mihopa account. Or like Greg does give them a password and they can change it later (which is basically the same as mihopa because the admin still knows your pass.)
 
They do? o_O I never noticed XD. Well, at least you're doing mine and you know my password :3
 
WHM has a "change password" thing, so we can always change passwords...
 
Actually, for awhile I was working on changing my global, but... I failed. XD
 
Greg, why did you edit the thread name. I think advertisers are allowed to propagate their service as the best aren't they? Please change it to the old thread title.

It's also illegal to false advertise. =P

There are better hosts out there than Mihopa or Elixant, I know, and so we shouldn't stage the reader's opinions until they read the thread.
