Mimikyu arrives in Pokémon Sleep alongside the Halloween 2024 event commencing October 28th

To mark the Halloween holiday, Pokémon Sleep will be running a special Halloween 2024 — Double Candy Research event, later this month, starting the day before Halloween, on Monday October 28th at 4:00am local time, running through to Monday November 4th at 4:00am local time. Mimikyu will also make its Pokémon Sleep debut alongside this event, while Pikachu wearing a Halloween hat returns with a new purple hat variant.

Last year's Halloween 2023 - Double Candy Research event was Pokémon Sleep's first full fledged in-game event other than the Good Sleep Days that are held every lunar month.

To participate and gain bonuses from this event, players will need to conduct their sleep research for this week on Greengrass Isle, with the following bonuses active throughout the event period:

• Each time when Ghost-type helper Pokémon bring ingredients, they will one extra ingredient
• Ghost-type helper Pokémon's main skills are ×1.5 more likely to be triggered
• Researchers can encounter a few Pokémon of different sleep types regardless of their own sleep type for the day.
• Gengar, Drifblim, Skeledirge, and Pikachu (Halloween) can appear during Sleep Research.
• Snorlax on Greengrass Isle will have Bulk Berries, found on Ghost-type Pokémon, set as one of its favorite Berries (other favorite berry types will be selected at random).

The following additional bonuses will also be available during specified periods

• Halloween (October 31st), and the final day of the event (November 3rd): ×3 Pokémon candies will be received for the first sleep research of the day
• All other event days: ×2 Pokémon candies will be received for the first sleep research of the day

Sleep tracking on any other map will not trigger these event bonuses.

Mimikyu makes its Pokémon Sleep debut alongside the start of this event, from Monday October 28th at 3:00am local time. As with the recent debut of Drifloon and Drifblim, players who are in the middle of Sleep Research at the time it debuts should have a chance of seeing it when they complete their sleep.

As with other Ghost-type Pokémon, Mimikyu collects Bluk Berries, and have the Dozing sleep type, which corresponds to the "awake" or "light sleep" phase of a sleep cycle. Mimikyu will appear at Greengrass Isle and the Old Gold Power Plant.

Mimikyu possesses the new Disguise (Berry Burst) Main Skill. When this skill triggers, Mimikyu will gather a set number of Berries based on its skill level, plus an additional number of Berries of different types based on the other Pokémon on a player's team. Rarely, this skill will trigger with a "Great Success", giving a greater number of berries than normal. When this happens, no more Great Successes will trigger until the next sleep research is completed, or the player inputs a manual sleep data entry.

Mimikyu Incense items will also be able to be used from the instant the Pokémon goes live. As with previous Pokémon debuts, it's likely that Mimikyu Incense will become available in special bundles available for purchase in-game from shortly before the event.

Two separate versions of Pikachu (Halloween) will also be available as part of this event, with a new purple and black hat variant joining last year's red and black hat. As part of this event, Researchers will be able to receive a variety of special rewards, including Pikachu (Halloween) Incense, by completing a set of special missions that will be added on top of the standard weekly missions.

Additionally, the following Pokémon will appear more frequently during sleep research throughout the event:

• Much Greater Encounter Chance
  • Pikachu (Halloween), Mimikyu
• Greater Encounter Chance
  • Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Shuppet, Banette, Drifloon, Drifblim, and Skeledirge

Researchers should also note the following for this event:

• The daily rollover for the Halloween 2024 — Double Candy Research event is at 4:00am local time.
• Event bonuses for this event apply only for sleep data tracked in Greengrass Isle.
• Event bonuses apply only for sleep tracking that begins within the event period, and do not apply to sleep tracking during the tutorial, or to sleep data tracked before the event, even if the researcher waits to review their sleep research after the event has started.
• Sleep data tracked during the event will receive event bonuses, regardless of if the researcher waits to review their sleep research until after the event has concluded.
• The bonus that raises Ghost-type helper Pokémon's main skills is capped at the normal maximum level, and cannot surpass it. In some circumstances, Pokémon already on the team before the commencement of the event may not always trigger this bonus the very first time their main skill is triggered during the event.
