Modorator's approval needed?

Ok, I'm new here, and I'd like to get involved in the community a little. I have made two replies on topics, but when I post a reply, it says that a mod needs to approve the post before it appears. I've waited like a day but my posts still haven't appeared yet. Is this normal? My posts weren't spam or anything. they were very normal replies. Thanks.
