I think the summer school arc reminded me of when I was also in summer school. It had that intimate feeling. There are other more specific parallels, but I hope others have noticed them too.

Paul beating Ash in that 6 on 6 battle. Despite Ash being the caring person that he is, he couldn't overcome the brute strength of Paul. Much like how being a nice person, in this world, gets us nowhere.

When Ash first got Pikachu, brings me back to the day Professor Oak gave me my Bulbasaur. Man has time flown by.

Every episode reminds me of those times Team Rocket broke into my house to steal my Pikachu.

When Brock said something about how he never does anything in Movie 11, reminded me that I wasn't as sad as that.

Also this:

I agree. Sometimes being nice all the time doesn't seem to cut it.

As for the main topic: whenever Ash acts reckless and headstrong (that's what I do, too)

I tried out for tennis during highschool. I was sorta ok, but my regular team mate was incredibly good at it. He'd practically do the matches as 2v1, probably because he didn't have too much faith in my abilities.

When I saw that pingpong ball episode recently, I was reminded of that moment. I guess that's why I like that episode more than others, even if the general idea behind it is a little... odd.

Well, it's not really a "moment," but I just finished watching The Mandarin Island Miss Match a few minutes ago, and Lorelei's personality reminds me a lot of myself. I tend to be really absent minded and in deep thought when I'm alone or even around a bunch of people I'm more quiet and observant than most other people. I like to go with the flow.

Lorelei is also apparently a Pisces and so am I. Fun, unnecessary fact that I got from Bulbapedia lol.
