Kind of a white lie in the title since it's not 100% mono. I'm part of a league on another forum which I joined about 6 months ago.

Here are the rules my team must keep to:
- Must have at least 4 Pokemon who are part ground
- Can have a maximum of 2 alts
- Alts must have at least one ground type move

The league is probibly more casual than over competetive, but I still want my team to be "ok" by competetive standards. Since this wasn't really strict, I didn't come up with a team of impressive grounds, more like my favourite grounds. Even though my winning streak is almost perfect, I want to up my game a bit.

Here are the horrid lot now :/

Hippowdon@ Lefties, Impish
252 HP / 16 Atk / 152 Def / 88 SpD
-Thunder Fang
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock
-Rest

Tyranitar@ Lefties, Adamant
Cannot remember, was a good spread at the time
~ Dragon Dance
~ Crunch
~ Earthquake
~ Stone Edge

Dugtrio@ Choice Band, Jolly
252 Atk/ 252 Spe
~ Earthquake
~ Sucker Punch
~ Aerial Ace
~ Stone Edge

Heatran@ Choice Specs, Modest
252 SpA/ 252 Spe
~ Earth Power
~ Flamethrower
~ Overheat
~ Dragon Pulse

Rhyperior@ Choice Band, Brave
252 SpA/ 252 Hp
~ Earthquake
~ Avalanche
~ Megahorn
~ Stone Edge

Now that you've seen this horrible team, i'd like some feedback. I defonitly need some new Pokemon since a lot of them just do the same thing and counter the same Pokemon. I also need to get rid of my crippling weaknesses, Gyarados?

Incase you're wondering, I used to have a Garchomp as my 6th. He made sure any water/grasses where OHKO'd.

PLEASE HELP

Since the tier shift, do they not let you use Garchomp anymore? That's seems rather strict, especially considering that this league doesn't seem to be otherwise.

A question, though -- obviously it's good for STAB, but if a pokemon on your team is ground-type, must it also have a ground-type move? If your weaknesses were are so bad, you might want to consider sticking HP Electric on something in place of Earthqake.

However, you've only got one special-based pokemon on your team -- Heatran. Try replacing Rhyperior with something like Camerupt or Claydol. Nidoqueen or Donphan might work well as walls or supporters, but I don't know where they might fit in.

Atualy, I chose not to use Garchomp since A) I like to play by the rules and B) Garchomp always makes my victories feel hollow.

My ground types do not need to have ground type moves. Saying "stick hp electric" isn't too helpful to me, who do you mean specificly? Since i'm a bit more hit and run, weakness don't tend to hurt as much but i should still fix my grass/water/ice weakness.

I'm considering the following Pokemon:
Gyarados
Swampert
Gliscor
Flygon
A Grass type that learns a ground move :S

I'm probibly going to drop the following Pokemon:
Rhyperior - bad typing for my team and Hippowdon fills his role in many ways.
Tyranitar - The SpWalling capabilities are appealing but my team needs more diversity.

Hippowdon - Slack off is a much better move than rest. Also consider Yawn as a move. They are either asleep or switched out and you can get a free hit or two.

Electrivire might be risky but worth considering. Elemental punches, namely ice, and earthquake. Only down side is... all ground!

Also, does Hidden Power (ground) count as a ground move?

Yeah I guess. In fact that may be interesting...
Also, I got Rest mixed up with Slack Off (embarrased).

I have an Electivire but it's not the fastest thing and doesn't get much of a motor drive boost on the switch due to me having a ground team :/

However, the destruction of waters seems very apealing :D I just wanted some faster Pokemon, Azelf/Yanmega (hp Ground) possibly?

Try using Cradily and Gliscor. Cradily with toxic in a sandstorm can deal with most water types, and Gliscor is a nasty little physical wall.

I had no idea how good Cradily is in Sandstorm. I'm defonitly scrapping tyranitar for it. I think I may use Gliscor but i'm unsure if the crippling ice weakness is worth it :S Then again, Gliscor isn't afraid of fighting types who hurt Cradily.

In fact, i'll add Gliscor and Swampert over Rhyperior and Tyranitar and Cradily can fill the last spot. Thanks for the help!
