Two minor rumors that are going around:

1. Morbius might be in Spider-Man 4. Recent interview with Sam Raimi has him asked, point blank, if Morbius is in it. He feigns being shocked, then discusses his interest in vampires. But, who knows? Maybe he's trying to draw people's interest away from the real villain that's been chosen.

2.
The rumor from Golden Apple Comics is that actress Katee Sackhoff swung by their shop to buy every comic she could get her hands on featuring the character Typhoid Mary. Does that mean anything for a reboot? Who can say?

One of several places posting the above.

Though this site mentions Typhoid being in the Deadpool comics at one point, so...it's fairly obvious why that's relevant (though she's hardly the female mutant I'd want in a Deadpool movie).

Still...two interesting minor rumors.

I would really and I mean really want a deadpool movie instead of Blindboy and hotgirl 2. Daredevil is just dull when Deadpool is well deadpool. My common sense are tingling!

Morbius would be terrible. :p

Didn't Typhoid Mary appear in that Elektra movie? Interesting... I'm all for a Daredevil reboot, but only if they get it just right. Otherwise, forget it. And then there's the question of whether they would go with the "straight-up different continuity" route or the "maybe it's in the same continuity, maybe it's not, you decide" route like they did with Incredible Hulk. But either way, let's cast Foggy Nelson correctly this time. I like Favreau and all, but not as Foggy Nelson. Heh, maybe he could direct the new movie.

Oh, btw, spoilers for Avengers: The Initiative:
So pissed at myself for looking at Typhoid Mary's Wikipedia page and learning that she's Mutant Zero. '_'

We're getting a Deadpool movie, either way. It's more of IF Typhoid Mary's going to be in a movie...which one will she be in?

Yep. Different actress, though (obviously).

Heh, maybe he could direct the new movie.

Only if he can direct the Avengers movie before that. Unless we can luck into another guy who's able to make a really good movie that doesn't stray horribly far from its comic roots.

I assume you buy in trade format, not single issues? Cause otherwise, that's REALLY old news (and, with the clues given, made a hell of a lot of sense).

EDIT: And, from the uber-geek perspective, Hulk and Incredible Hulk DID take place in separate realities (we even have numbers!).

Yup. I've been trying to gradually switch completely from single issues to graphic novels... and would probably have completely switched over if it weren't for Marvel's recent standard of releasing overpriced hardcovers before the trades.

Hulk bombed, and they released The Incredible Hulk, which was awesome. I guess, after Daredevil bombed, they could release... uh... Daredevil, The Man without Fear? It could work.

Morbius as the villain of Spider-Man 4 is news to me. I thought the popular rumor was that the Vulture was going to be the "Big Bad" of Spider-Man 4.

Morbius would be AWFUL. He's just lame all around.

I think the best bet for Spider-Man 4 would be the Lizard going on a rampage while Kraven tries to kill him and Spider-Man tries to save him.

The vulture? Someone forgot Spidey1 and his appearance in that old clock tower. Wasn't the more sturdy rumor or the most logical thing the lizard? I mean if it wasn't the lizard who would it be? Besides Morbius of course.

Spider-Man 4 needs to retcon Venom's death in SM3 and develop the character.

Morbius would be... just...no.
It could work, just maybe, but not unless we get some heavy character development, and they don't fuck him over like they did Venom.

I'd much rather see the clone saga in a film. But that will never happen. :/

They're saving that for the Venom solo movie (or else they're relaunching the character in his own series).

I think you're the ONLY person I've ever heard say they WANTED Kraven in a movie.

Really, with Morbius's history, they could always tie that into the origins of the Lizard. And maybe pull a six-armed Spider-Man into it.

I don't want Kraven in a movie, so much as if they were going to make the Lizard the main villain, Kraven would make the most sense as a secondary villain since he could logically have hunting the Lizard as his character motivation.

I only see Morbius as an excuse for Spider-Man and Blade to crossover. Though I'd love to see Spider-Man beat up the cast of Twilight.

Bleh...
That would suck
I want a movie with Morlun. Specifically a silver screen adaption of Spiderman: the Other.

Morlun and the Other were some of the worst Spider-Man stories ever. Morlun is a vampire who can only feed on people with animal superpowers (which is the stupidest idea I've ever heard) and has no other persona other than being a big bad Mary Sue. The Other was inserting nonsensical mystic crap into science fiction story. I'm pretty sure people would laugh their asses off at the idea of a movie where Spider-Man is revealed to have gotten his powers by being an Avatar of Anansi the Spider-God and he's the latest in a long-line of chosen Spider Men and must fight off a vampire that eats people with animal-based superpowers.

The Lizard and Kraven plot would write itself, almost. Connors mixes the Symbiote sample with lizard DNA to regrow his arm. Turns him into the Lizard and he starts rampaging across New York. Peter figures what is going on and develops an antidote but must administer it before superpowered celebrity big game hunter Kraven kills the Lizard first. Mix in a romance subplot (probably something about Black Cat trying to tempt Peter into giving up his mundane life for romantic 24 hour a day superheroics juxtaposed against Gwen or Mary Jane) and you're good to go.

I would love sparkle vampires to be included in the movie only and a major only if they make Morbius a sparkle vampire. Hello spiderman time to die! Uh dude you got some sparkles around you. Ah leave it alone! Oh i get it you're on of those gay vampires. SHUT UP!
Oh yes I would buy 10 copies of the movie DVD just for that.

I'd rather have Stegron.

Well, Morbius was originally a geneticist. Would make sense if he was working with Conners on a process to restore lost limbs ("would make sense" as in "it would explain why in the hell he's randomly there." Though I SEEM to remember Morbius's first appearance involving Lizard to some extent...but I'm likely wrong).

I like Zeta's idea of Kraven and the Lizard in a movie.
Personally, it's not that I have anything against him(Kraven), it's just that he's kind of lackluster.
Sam is a great director, so I'm sure he could pull it off, but unless Kraven get's paired with another villain, it'd be pretty lame.

The Jackal, that's who I wanna see.

@DCM,
:The Other was a pretty BS story imo, I can't see that working in a film. It basically tried to give back story as to why Spidey got his powers, and in the context of films I wouldn't want to see that.

Like I already said, the shitty story I wanna see is the Clone saga. =D

Let me check.

EDIT: Morbius's first appearance was ASM #101
I don't have that issue, so unless anyone has access to it...

For some reason, Lizard and Spider-Man were fighting in Europe when Morbius attacked them and the Lizard and Spider-Man teamed up to take him down. It was really random.

Ahh, thanks.
I'm gonna see if I can find that issue, maybe give screen caps or scans or something?

AHA! Hence why I doubted I was right. Very random (that and I've never read the issue, only the relatively recent Marvel Index that covered it).

I seem to remember him making a minor appearance in the novelization for the second movie (though if it was Jackal, it was NOTHING like the Jackal in the comics) that Spidey beat fairly easily on his way to the presentation that Octavius was giving that saw his arms fused to him (and THAT scene featured a minor appearance by Henry Pym, and heavily hinted at him being Ant-Man during the fight).

My only complaint with the Clone Saga was how it ended. Didn't want Osborn back, and I didn't want them to lose the baby. Wouldn't mind seeing the clone and Jackal in the movies, though they'd need to kill off Gwen first (or come up with some new reasoning for Jackal being pissed at Spidey). The Saga itself? Seems WAY too confusing to be confined to a 2 hour movie (or even its own trilogy).
