i hadnt played these games since i was a kid until i bought a ds the other week and one of the games came with it.

my question is are there or will there be in the future,any games where instead of just going tit for tat as it where the battles where more like they are in an action game,but still progressing up the levels etc?
 
I doubt it; the standard Pokémon format has worked for 15 years, I don't see them changing it any time soon - and I hope they don't. At the very least, it would ruin backwards compatability xD
 
It would be fun to see one, though. Like, as an actual fighting game. Imagine pokemon actually moving to attack. However, I don't think it might work very well as an original game.
