More metal found in Pokémon Valentine's Day candy: X-rays find staple sealed in lollipop

Sherwood Brands is voluntarily recalling its Pokémon Valentine Cards and Pops because X-rays found a metal staple in a lollipop two days after another piece of candy was found with a blade sealed inside. The Valentines, imported from China, were purchased at two different Dollar General stores in central Florida. The candy has been removed from more than 8,000 stores across the United States.

Wow, soon enough the government's going to make products imported from China have a massive sticker on the front of them saying: "Warning: Made in China!"

Ah great. It's worse that these things and just about everything else that are poisoned or potentially dangerous like this coming out of China are kid products. Wish it hadn't been a Pokemon product mainly because when it's specific people can automatically assume it's just that franchise and not the source responsible.

I'm not really following all of these things because I'm a jerk I guess, but is anything even being considered about dealing with all this? Besides recalls? No one sitting back and saying "er, this is happening too much too fast"?

Well, that's just a pity. I saw the video with the cards in them and they looked really cool. If they weren't recalled and weren't dangerous...

Sigh. Bad publicity for Pokemon. All these recalls lately are kind of scary.

Hold up...General Dollar stores?
Now why would anyone buy candy from a dollar store? They are called dollar stores for a reason...

Anyway...it's a shame that it had to be Pokemon related...

...Wow. I've still got the lollipop from a Team Rocket one Lisa sent me last year.

Good thing I haven't eaten it yet.
