More new Pokémon seen during demo: Japanese fans get a preview of Black and White

A user on the Japanese 2ch forum has posted photographs taken of a demo of Pokémon Black and White. One new Pokémon, Hatooboo (ハトーポー) can clearly be seen, while in another picture a second Pokémon has been partially blanked out.

I hope it's not related to Mamepato... Me wants an Ice-flying type!

Well, of course :P

I just don't like to use two o's when romanizing long o-sounds because to an English speaker who has zero background in Japanese, -oo makes an "ooh" sound, not an "oh" sound.

Yeah, you're right. Maybe I should have used ō instead of oo >.>

Man, it's maddening that people over there know more than we do ATM...

Not really. We're technically not supposed to know any of this.

Well, if they played the demo then they know...

True, very true... I'm kind of hoping that I stop spoiling it all for myself, but I just can't stop coming back here...

Y'know, I don't believe this just yet...

.....^^ and that's why. I'm guessing it's kanji for あいて (I might be wrong.). However, the handheld Pokémon games have never used Kanji, and including the other screenshot revealed in the demo, all the others to this game don't have any Kanji.

O_o You're right...

I'm not sure if it is kanji for the quality is pretty poor. Also I believe black/white are the first games to use Kenji, but I'm not sure.

The kanji there is 野生, meaning "wild."

The full text translates to "The wild Hatopoh was defeated"

There's also kanji used in the in-game screenshots of the new professor. So the it looks like the game will use kanji, at least in some capacity.

I love the look of the pigeon Pokemon! It looks amazing! And a hell-of-a-lot better than the effort put in Staraptor. I swear I used to think it was partially based on a runway model. But it grew on...

Sorry for immaturity, but that romanization they posted is hilarious.

Tsk, grow up...

Now Magby's Japanese name... that's funny.

That pidgeon looks fucking glorious. Mind changed forever on the former evolution. I hope Nintendo took a hit and didn't design these ugly as sin pokemon. Maybe pokemon more like these?
