I will sit and pout that Bumblebee isn't even an updated VW Bug.
 
Yeah. Blame BMW, though. Hasbro's been trying to get the rights to use it, but they've been pissy about it. They wanted one in their Alternators line, but they wouldn't go for it, so now it's a Camaro. He gets rebuilt into a newer model, though. Better than nothing.

And he's still yellow. I'm just hoping for the characterization to be right.

Well at least there's a good reason. =\ I guess I can handle that.
 
I dunno. I'm just not digging these. These things look like something CyberDyne would make for Terminator 5: Arnie the Car, not Transformers.

This is sort of reminding me of the Super Mario Bros movie. No real relation to the source material aside from a couple of name drops and some loose character design similarities. Considering the success of the Mario movie, this does not bode well.
 
Exactly. They're straying too far from the source material in order to "make it work." And there are NUMEROUS changes I can understand (vehicle modes, specifically), but a series that has lasted 20 years MUST be doing something right, so why make such drastic changes in the robot modes? I get that sharp points are cool now, but...do we really need so many on each one? And...the faces. It's OBVIOUS that they're alien lifeforms, they don't need to LOOK like Alien.

When this movie was announced, I was DEFINITELY going to go see it. But the more I see and hear...the less interest I have. I'm STILL willing to give it a shot, but...it has to really draw me in with a good trailer (which we SHOULD be getting in the next couple of months). I normally see one movie in the theater a year. As is, it's looking more like Ghost Rider or 300 might be getting my money, but I'm waiting for a better release list for 2007.
