He is the guy who made the documentary "Supersize Me" and now he has his show called 30 Days on FX where he puts people (and sometimes himself) in opposite situations. I think that's awesome, and he deserves much more respect for trying to educate the American public than a certain other documentarian who shall remain nameless...

I'd like to discuss a few things I saw on his show that I got to thinking about.

Minimum Wage He said they keep trying to raise it but it keeps getting rejected. I've not thought about it to much, but after watching his experiance, and hearing what he had to say, it looks like it really needs raising...:(

Racial ProfilingI'm white and I don't think I'd mind being stopped at the airports or whatever as long as it meant helping the country stay safe. As long as they aren't mean to you, I don't see anything wrong with it.

What do y'all think?

Haven't seen the film, but as far as living on minimum wage goes, I can recommend reading Barbara Ehrenreich's "Nickeled and Dimed." She lived in various parts of the US for a year, never making more than $10.00 an hour and often worked two jobs just to make ends meet.

Some people argue that minimum wage to begin with is bad for the economy (I guess it encourages inflation). From a human standpoint, it should be raised. From a cold logic standpoint, I don't know, but I've heard a lot of people saying that it's a bad idea. If only there were some Utopia out there where compassion and logic were compatible...

I'm pretty sure you'd think differently if you were muslim. It's a lot easier to say that racial profiling isn't a big deal if you're on the outside looking in and don't have to deal with it for your entire life.

Why, what exactly do they do?

Well, I don't know exactly because I'm also white, but even if they're the politest people in the world, it still can't be a good feeling that you've been labeled a potential threat and have to have your bag searched every time just because of your looks.

I don't know what it's really like. I'm just saying that you don't, either, and it's easy to say that a problem isn't a big deal if you don't have to deal with it.

The site also talks about his show in good detail

Man, I really don't care about this guy.

Right now... I'm going to piss off all those animal people and PETA morons by going to Burger King, getting some burgers, then go to Cumberland Farms and get myself a gallon of milk nd eat it right in fromt of those idiots.
