Almost everyone has that one type they must absolutely have on their team, usually a type they're fond of, if not outright favourite. What I'm asking for, however, is that one move (or moves) you usually have on your ingame party when the opportunity presents itself. Not counting HMs, of course.

For me, it's Earthquake. 100 Base Power and 100% Accuracy, I would say it's my absolute favourite both ingame and competitively. Calm Mind and Swords Dance also have a place in most of my teams, same for Flamethrower, Thunderbolt and Ice Beam.

every single gen I playthrough I do I always make sure Raichu gets 'Mega Punch' and '100,000 volt.'
and I know this is an HM, but until recently, I used to teach every capable pokemon 'surf' :p

EDIT:
and whenever possible, I give my pokemon the elemental super moves, like Hydro Pump and Fire Blast

I favor a lot of Poison types, so Poison Jab is on a lot of my pokémon, and Shadow Ball is on a lot of my special attackers.

I heavily favor Earthquake, though U-Turn, Swords Dance, Reflect/Light Screen, and Waterfall also see a fair amount of use on my teams.

Earthquake, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Ice Beam or Fang, Psychic or Psycho Cut, Energy Ball, Signal Beam, Brick Break/Drain Punch, Crunch/Dark Pulse/Night Slash, Dragon Claw/Outrage, Fly, Surf or Waterfall, Shadow Ball or Claw, Sludge Bomb/Poison Jab, Ancient Power or Power Gem

Earthquake has always been a favorite. T-Bolt/Ice Beam/Surf/Psychic are all common secondaries. I prefer 100% accuracy to 70% or 80% almost every time. Crunch/Dark Pulse/Shadow Ball/Dragon Pulse/Dragon Claw/Outrage are also frequently found on my teams.

I started in Gen I, so I don't favor Fighting/Fire/Poison because they got rekt all Gen long.

Agree with Earthquake; such a great move to be honest. Surf (I know it's an HM but even if it wasn't I would use it anyway) is a move I love to use as well, since it's got more PP than moves like Hydro Pump and still has good power behind it. I also like having Thunderbolt, Psychic, and Acrobatics if possible as they all are strong moves with good coverage.

I also really love the move Giga Drain, but with average power, low PP, and the fact that it can be hard to obtain as a TM, I always have trouble finding a good spot for it. v.v

Long list incoming: Flamethrower, surf, brick break, ice beam, thunderbolt, X-scissor, poison jab, flash cannon, rock slide, shadow claw, scald, shadow ball, psychic, earthquake, sludge bomb, air slash and crunch/bite for flinching purposes:D

Since gen I earthquake for everyone except flying -.- That move's so good and useful after all these generations. Then the classic 90 base power moves (firethrower, thunderbolt and surf)

Since Gen I I've always had someone on my team that knows Fly and Surf; not only are they handy for navigation they're pretty good in battle as well. Since Gen V, I've had at least one Pokemon that knows Shadow Punch, Earthquake and either Drain Punch or Ice Punch. I also run with at least one Pokemon who knows Iron Head or Night Slash, as they can be really useful.

in response to everyone else I HATE EARTHQUAKE and it drives me crazy how many Pokemon can learn it that shouldn't be able to. Now that I got that over with, my favorite in game moves are ice beam since gen 1, giga drain since gen 2, and recently I have recently enjoyed having scald. I also typically have return.

Psychic, Earthquake, BoltBeam, and Flamethrower, as well as moves to help catch wild Pokemon such as False Swipe, Thunder Wave, and one of Spore/Sleep Powder/Yawn.

High jump kick. 130 base power, which is often boosted with STAB, and is only on pokémon with high attack power, can down pretty much down any pokémon that it's not weak against.

The ten percent chance of losing half your health is bad, but give the pokémon a wide lens, and it drops to a tiny one percent! (Although the other day I had it miss twice in a row :()

It used to be both Toxic and Ice Beam back in Gen V, but ever since I've quit competitive, there's really been no common moves on my teams.

Whenever possible I have Fire Blast, Focus Blast and Ice Beam. I like high power special moves, but oddly I dont like Blizzard (dont like the name), hence Ice Beam.

Also, I try to go for Stone Edge and Dragon Claw literally ANY time one of my pokes can learn them, STAB or not, physical attacker or not :D

Ice Beam probably the most common move I'll find on my in-game teams, next to Dragon Claw and Dragon Pulse. Seeming as I try to go for signature moves as much as possible, I don't recall clearly on what the true answer to this would have been for my X and OR teams. Maybe I should try keeping track of that as I play through Y and AS!
