OK so I played a bit of Platinum, FireRed and just recently started playing Pokemon Crystal. So I was playing though the games and I've found out that Johto and Sinnoh regions confuse me the most map wise. Like the locations and missions are just confusing to me while Kanto and Honnen(sp) I find to be very simplistic for whatever reason.

So which, if any, of the 4 generations map's do you find to be confusing, or which were confusing you when you started the game(s)?

In terms of maps, none of them. In terms of gameplay, Hoenn confused me because you had to keep running around Hoenn to finish the story.

hoenn by a long shot.

i havent really played the 3rd gen alot( only once on an emulator:( and a few times on my friends lil' bros game) all times, i never knew wtf was there for capture, battle, ect.

on the emulator, i got as far as brawly, then i got lost.

on friends lil' bros game, not even to roxanne yet.

Well, I think all of them (except Kanto) have their confusing bits. But once you figure out where everything is... you can usually become a skilled map reader.

I did have issues with Silver because I couldn't find the Pokemon league. I thought it was at Mt. Silver which was this solitary red dot with no connector... and then WHOA! Kanto!

Sinnoh. I still get confused where things are. It took me forever to find the day care. I don't know why I never looked it up...

Hoenn never confused me. Although that's probably just because I played it so much.

Hoenn by far. You have to backtrack like crazy to advance the story.

I don't know, but let's say Gen III. It was hard trying to get to Lavaridge the first time around.

Hoenn cause its so god damn explorable. We seriously need another region like it.

Also Hoenn. I remember that when I was playing Sapphire, it took me forever to think that I had to face Norman, while in the meantime I was training my Pokemon. When I challenged him, my Pokemon were all above level 50. In addition, the fact that you have to explore the sea is tiring.

Hoenn was extremely confusing, especially when they just put Lavaridge in any random free space so you couldn't find it. Also; water routes. Way too long, way too wide, way too confusing.

Sinnoh kind of confused me too, just because of Mt. Bloody Coronet. That's the most un-navigatable place ever.

I don't get how Hoenn is at all confusing, I mean yes the routes were long but they were pretty linear, the only time it wasn't like that was if you wanted to get some hidden item or something along those lines on the route. Sinnoh too, you had to backtrack through it... a lot, so after a while you'd pretty much have the routes memorized. Mt Coronet wasn't even that tough, it's just your basic mountain with the exception of the outside parts.

Honestly, everything was ok.
I didn't have too much trouble.

Hoenn, just because of water routes. It took me so long to get to the underwater cave where you unlock the Regis.

Gen III's RSE for its water routes.

Gen IV's DPPt for Mt. Coronet and Stark Mountain.
