I should have known better then to post a topic like this at Serebii

Okay, I was reading up on information about Delores Umbridge, and about how so many readers find her very loathsome and hateful. Well, obviously she is, that's not my point xp

My point is, after reading how Rowling herself described Umbridge as horrible, it got me to thinking about another fictional villain. While Umbridge just made me mad, this other villain was so horrible, so sadistic, that watching him in action made me sick to my stomach

Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi from Bleach

Notice how a lot of fictional villains are simply meglomaniacs, or self-proclaimed baddasses, each believing themselves to be the ultimate evil. Mayuri is a reminder that true evil is just basic, simple cruelty, the delight in the suffering of others

So I decided to raise topics on the issue, hoping to find a general majority, or possibly unanimous consent, on who people think is the most cruel, sadistic, heartless creeps ever to grace TV, Literature, Video Games, or whatever, with their slimy presence

I don't mean successful, or dangerous, or powerful meglomaniacs, like Lex Luthor, Sephiroth, or whoever else has made a name of themselves simply by being badasses, I mean those who are just plain cruel

My nominees are Mayuri Kurotsuchi and Delores Umbridge. Other honorable mentions include Count Olaf from A Series of Unfortunate Events and Frieza from Dragonball Z

In other words, most villains are bad and tall, but who's the very worst of all? Pick the bad boy (or girl) you love to hate the most!

Well there's Black Mask. He brutally beat Stephanie Brown aka the Spoiler, and she later died from her injuries. The Bat family lost a well-liked character among fans.

Fictional serial killers are nearly as terrifying as the real ones, and this is mainly due to the fact that they're often based on real-life crimes and criminals. Hannibal Lecter, the cannibal serial killer from The Silence of the Lambs, is based off of real-life mass murderer Ed Gein. Patricia Cornwell created two serial killers for her Kay Scarpetta series, Temple Brooks Gault (a male), and his equally sociopathic lover, Carrie Grethen.

Just as terrifying, although not villiains in the strictest sense, are the great white from Jaws and the giant squid from Beast. The plots are very similar but they both tap into a deep fear common to most of mankind: being a part of the food chain.

Great literature also has had its share of villains, notably Dracula and Frankenstein, as well as the devil himself from Dante's Inferno. Certainly, the scheming Iago from Othello deserves to be included in literature's greatest villains.

Maybe not quite the most despicable villains, but some of my favorites are:

Megatron: A great leader and evil villain, always a thorn in the Autobots side. One of my favs

Dr Doom: Man has his own country and nobody messes with him. I mean, he wore the flesh of his dead lover as armor, badass.

Green Goblin: Man is insane, always looking to ruin Peters life. Plus he killed Gwen.

I shall post more as I think of it.
