Just thought I'd see if I could put something together for the monotype tournament. Throw out an idea for a team before I commit to entering.

Changes in RED
New changes in LIME

Bronzong@Light Clay
Levitate
Relaxed nature
EVs: 252 HP / 152 Atk / 8 Def / 96 SpD
-- Light Screen
-- Reflect
-- Stealth Rock
-- Earthquake

My screener. Also sets up Stealth Rock. I don't much care for Explosion, so Earthquake gives me nice coverage if I need to attack. Now my lead. Unchanged.

Gallade@Focus Sash
Adamant nature
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
-- Close Combat
-- Night Slash
-- Psycho Cut
-- Thunder Wave

Now that Gallade isn't leading anymore, he's free to run a more powerful set. Close Combat's still on for STAB, Night Slash because I'm unable to breed for Shadow Sneak, and Psycho Cut for secondary STAB. Thunder Wave simply because I'm sorely lacking in status, and the paralysis helps with the rather average speed of a lot of my team. Focus Sash ensures he gets in at least one opponent paralyzed. I only have so many Life Orbs, and Lucario puts it to better use. :-/

Metagross@Expert Belt/Choice Band
Adamant nature
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spd
-- Meteor Mash
-- Earthquake
-- Thunder Punch
-- Zen Headbutt/Ice Punch

Physical killer. It comes in and...well, messes things up. Earthquake for coverage, Thunder Punch seems to be more useful with the other teams running around, and Meteor Mash = instant death. Zen Headbutt for STAB, or Ice Punch for coverage.

Alakazam@Choice Scarf
Modest nature
Inner Focus
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
-- Psychic
-- Focus Blast
-- Signal Beam
-- Trick

My replacement for Starmie as a special killer/Tricker. I bred it on Diamond, so I'm not positive of it's Hidden Power type yet, but if it's Ice, Electric, or Fire, I'll be replacing Signal Beam with it. Basically, this is my old Starmie, but faster and harder-hitting. Inner Focus instead of Synchronize just because that's what the ability happened to be on the best Abra I bred.

Swampert@Leftovers
Careful nature
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 SpD
-- Curse
-- Rest
-- Sleep Talk
-- Waterfall

Since I originally had Cresselia here, my team was in need of a special wall. Rest is, fortuitously, a Psychic-type move, so a Sleep Talk set is viable, while Curse lets Swampert function as sort of a physical wall as well. Waterfall for obligatory STAB and pretty good damage. Unchanged.

Lucario@Life Orb
Inner Focus
Sassy nature
EVs: 184 Atk / 128 SpA / 196 Spe
-- Shadow Ball
-- Aura Sphere
-- Extremespeed
-- Zen Headbutt

God, I got so sick of breeding these things...I just went with the first one that looked decent, though I'll be trying for a better nature. My answer to anything carrying Dark or Ghost type moves with which to maim me. It's quad resistant to Dark and resistant to Ghost, so since I know there are a couple of those teams going around with those types, I need a reliable counter. Shadow Ball+Aura Sphere = perfect type coverage, as well as some extra special attacks (which my team was lacking). Zen Headbutt to follow the rules and cover ghosts, while Extremespeed cleans up.

If this is for the tournament then cresselia isnt allowed. I like the sets though

On gallade use Thunder wave. It's more reliable.
On metagross, agility would give you more options than choice scarf, but that's your choice. If you use the scarf set adamant works, agility set jolly would work
Cresselia is banned and Lucario needs to pack a psychic move

Lucario is packing a Psychic move: Agility. (Why they made that Psychic is beyond me.)

Must have missed Cresselia on the banned list. I'll find something else -- I do have an extra non-Psychic spot open for a special wall. Perhaps...Tentacruel? It could double as a T.Spiker/Spinner...

How about Blissey? It can use Calm Mind.

^ Normal is banned, though. Does that extend to the 'other' types, or does it just mean you can't use Normal-types as your main type? Because then yeah, Blissey would be amazing.

I'm pretty sure it only means you can't have Normal as the main type of your team; a Normal-type on the side is allowed.

Gallade@Focus Sash
Adamant nature
EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Spe
-- Close Combat
-- Shadow Sneak/Night Slash
-- Taunt
-- Hypnosis/Thunder Wave

agree with you about destiny bond, as after the sash is activated and you dispose of their lead, a fast revenge killer will be brought in on whom destiny bond will be useless against. i'd say shadow sneak over night slash, but thats only my opinion, i think priority is more important than power. and thunder wave not hypnosis. oh, and think about psycho cut, because people have been posting their types, you can see how many fighting type teams there are ;)

Bronzong@Light Clay
Levitate
Relaxed nature
EVs: 252 HP / 152 Atk / 8 Def / 96 SpD
-- Light Screen
-- Reflect
-- Stealth Rock
-- Earthquake

looks all fine to me, maybe replace earthquake with explotion. can i suggest somthing? start with this, screen screen stealth rock explode, bring in gallade (who would be changed to a swords dance set) and swords dance with the screen protection.

Metagross@Choice Scarf
Jolly nature
EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spd
-- Meteor Mash
-- Earthquake/Zen Headbutt
-- Thunder Punch
-- Ice Punch

take away the scarf, take away one of the punches, ice punch probs, and give it agility and a life orb. better coverage, and can then sweep rather than revenge kill.

Starmie@Expert Belt
Natural Cure
Timid nature
EVs :4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-- Surf
-- Grass Knot
-- Ice Beam
-- Recover

can starmie learn trick? if it can, give it a scarf and trick, then it can be a combination of a revenge killer and tricker. put trick over recover.

Cresselia@Leftovers
Timid nature
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
-- Calm Mind
-- Psychic
-- Charge Beam
-- Signal Beam

cant use this :p hmmm bulky special attacker......i'd use togekiss, it'll absorb earthquakes sent for metagross and lucario, and it'll be able to airslash/auraspeher fighters/dark pokemon respectivally. give it 252 HP / 152 SpA / 104 Spe and aura sphere, air slash and psychic. the third move can be roost, thunderwave or nasty plot, i'd say thunderwave, so you can paralyse on the switch.

Lucario@Life Orb
Inner Focus
Naughty nature
EVs: 184 Atk / 128 SpA / 196 Spe
-- Agility
-- Close Combat
-- Shadow Ball/Crunch
-- Stone Edge/Ice Punch

i'd give it swords dance, and extreme speed, and this will be a BRILLIANT late game sweeper. then give it zen headbutt to keep dcm happy and to hit ghost types, and close combat to beat pokemon with more than half health to death.

overall looks good, consider a tricking scarfed alakazam instead of starmie though :)

I asked this before, but.......
Does anybody have any good teams that they sweep the battle frontier with on emerald version? My team is fairly good (see past posts ^) but I can't win any symbols. if you have a team, What pokemon do you use? I'm looking for a good type effectiveness triangle, but I'm coming up with nothing in my head. anybody?

acefighter, seriously, dont post that in someone else's thread, thats just rude :p

go post in the in-game-teams section

Jim, I would put Explosion on Bronzong, but as I said in my original post, I'm not a fan of suicide moves. I'm noticing a fair Fire weakness, thanks to the unintended abundance of part-Steels, and with only Starmie to cover it...I think Cressy's old spot may get taken by a bulky water type. Vaporeon springs to mind...what do you think?

maybe vaporeon, the only problem with vapy is that it's more of a staller, it cant really hit back :/
milotic could be good, as could tentacruel

and togekiss can take special fire hits easily, and can paralyse them back

but is this really is for the tournament, then look at the types being used

pyscic, dark, ice, electric, water

there arnt going to be many fire types flying around :/

I think Swampert would fit well on your team as a bulky water. If he can learn any psychic moves that is (I don't know it's entire moveset.)

Oh and by the way, this team looks like it will really put a hurt on mine because I'm using fighting type.

there may not be any STAB fire attacks, but there are still plenty of pokemon who can learn them without actually having that typing.

i know, just hardly any psychic, dark ice or water types, with the exception of houndoom

...I just had an idea -- Flygon. Resists Fire (and can dish it back out), has Levitate to help with Earthquakes headed for Metagross/Lucario, and has acceptable defenses. Perhaps with Toxic/Roost/Earthquake/Fire Punch?

And won't said Flygon need a Psychic move? Plus, most of the time that you're using a Fire move you want it to be special (Flamethrower, Fire Blast, etc) because most of the things it hits are weaker on the special side than the physical side.

...Brain fart. I appear to be having a lot of those, lately. >.> At any rate, it seems like a bulky water will be filling that spot, as obtaining a Blissey is a pain in the ass. I need to find one that knows a Psychic move, though...

Bump just to say that I'm doing some rearranging with my team, which I'll edit into my first post (if someone could tell me how to put my font in colors, that would be a large help). Also, I'm going to be putting in a Resttalk Swampert in as my special wall, in place of Cresselia.
