Which particular moves do you think would be good for ashs pokemon to learn

I think Heracross should learn Brick Break, itd be good to have a fighting type move for it

I always wondered why none of his water pokemon knew any ice type moves, itd be good if kingler or squirtle or todo learned an ice type move

Well we could see Ash's old pokemon with new moves when he eventually uses them again.. I can't think of anything specific right now, but I really wish the writers would go back to ignoring the 4 moves only rule.

Umm Ash is a pretty lame trainer so his Pokemon aren't the best ever. A lot of his Pokemon could learn some new good moves, but a lot of others have already learned the moves they can.

Charizard has to learn Flare Blitz.
Swellow has to learn Hyper Beam.

He already knows Overheat but I can see Charizard learning Flare Blitz or Blast Burn..but maybe.

Swellow doesn't need Hyper Beam, or at least I just can't see how that would be useful.

Torkoal should get Flare Blitz. I loved Torkoal, but he just didn;t get enough use. Ash should take Torkoal with him to the Johto BF, and it should evolve into an evo it gets in the 5th gen. Torferno?

It'd be better to make this thread into ALL of the main character's pokemon, not just Ash's. You'd have more variety in the answers.

Monferno- Thunderpunch
Glalie- Sheer Cold
Noctowl- Psychic
Cyndaquil- Eruption
Bulbasaur- Sludge Bomb
Grotle- Withdraw

* Wow with that Ash could possibly for once get a chance at winning the league championship.

** He'd have to use Cyndaquil for such a long time I doubt it's possible, or maybe someone could somehow train it but I feel that is should evolve then just be a first stage with it's final stage's strongest attack.

*** I don't see a point in that at all.

*- I agree.
**- Cyndaquil has these weird-ass moves except Flamethrower so yeah.
***- Withdraw is a move that boosts a pokemon's defense. If Grotle is more focused on defense, it's a good move for it.

Yeah but he should focus on the raw attack power as well tho. Once Grotle evolves (IF he evolves) into Torterra, Ash would have to have trained him well in both defense and strong attacks because Torterra just sits there and absorbs hits but is supposed to dish out very powerful attacks. Maybe Ash will learn how to train it by battling Paul's Torterra more.
