Yeah, I know, prolly never happen due to metagame destroying physics.

Just hear me out. Here is a simple change and some rules to make them less broken.

Seed Bomb

Typing: Grass/Fire Physical attack
Power: 80(right?)

Rules: The attack type will be the more effective weakness of the opposing pokémon.

IE use seed bomb on Skarmory: Seed Bomb turns fire type. Since steel is weak to fire.

If the attack is hitting a normal type then it is neutral so it randomly chooses a type, grass OR fire.

Super effective multipler: 1.2 or 1.25, not 1.5

This assures some pokemon more coverage without breaking the metagame.

I see flaws in this, perhaps the pokemon loses a slot and it's 1.5x still? IE if you have seed bomb you lose a slot?

start complaining now

Other examples:

Steel Wing (Steel/Flying)
Elemental punches (Fighting/???)
Dragon Pulse (Fire/Dragon)
Brine (Water/Poison)
Heat Wave (Fire/Flying(windy Fire?))
Mixed Force (Light/Dark) (Don't argue)
Tri Attack (Ice/Fire/Electric)
Shadow Sneak (Ghost/Dark)

They'd invent 30 more I assume if they do decide as such.

Don't we already have moves that can change types depending on certain variables?

start complaining now

So you type up your ideas but then blatantly say to complain for no reason at all. I don't see your logic behind this, do you want us to actually get involved in a discussion or are you not sure how your idea will flow so you assume we can just complain right off the bad? I mean seriously if you're gonna propose an idea at least don't act like a cocky little shit about it.

As for the idea I have to say I don't like it simply because I don't see a point in having a "two type" move at all. It doesn't have to happen because quite frankly the current system is good..as in..NO CHANGE NEEDED.

A friend told me about this, but I thought it was lame at the time, but it at least seems like an O.K. idea (at least its not another "Light" type thread XD)

Pretty much the only moves I could see as dual type are the "mud" moves.

I'm not cocky, people complain about non-perfect ideas. This so far wasn't discussed, so I made a thread. Go ahead and complain, I want to see what you think(everyone).

Oh wow, this is totally and completely Awe- oh wait, wrong thread.

No. Far, far to complicated.

Don't fix something that isn't broken. Pokemon has its quirks, but the move types work just fine. I don't think it's necessary.

Insert overpowered remark here. My idea for dual-typed moves was much better.

No idea for dual typed moves is better, they're all equally terrible. They would make the metagame needlessly complicated.

Thinking about battling with dual type moves makes my head hurt :(

Your whole random system seems a tad bit irrelevant, we already have a system used for calculating defense, why not use the same of offense?

I WANT GROUND/WATER MUDDY WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Should've been Ground-type in the first place, IMO.

What about moves that have the possibility of being one of two types when you learn them, but you have to select one and stick with it forever (even if you relearn it)?

Somewhat superfluous with the increasing number of separate moves that only differ in type, but it would work without being game-breaking.

That sounds way too complicated. Don't forget this is a game for children (mostly).

My head just hurts thinking about this.

Waaaaaaaaay too complicated.

Intriguing. This makes it an act that you willingly choose, rather than by some random occurance. Very much like Hidden Power. Or Sketch even.

This I like. However, the ability to change it via the normal re-learning process I think would be sufficiently fair -- it doesn't allow you to swap type mid-battle, but you can rechange it as often as you'd like in the same manner as learning a TM does.
