They also say the next movie will be about Dialga VS Palkia VS Giratina... WTF... why not- let's put this trio in all the movies

And you know how the Japanese break the show into few new series? first it was "Pocket Monsters" and than "Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation" and now "Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl"
If this site is right than we're going to get a new series again soon to add Platina to the title so it'll be "Pocket Monsters Diamond Pearl Platina"
I think it'd be better if they simply tried to find a name like AG that would fit the whole generation rather than give it the newest game name
If so than I guess DPP will start at September with the release of Platina - and probably as a new series it'll have a new opening and ending
The previous times they started a new series all the main characters got new clothes- might this happen again? if so than Dawn will probably get her Platina outfit
 
Well the link you put seem to be from the newest pokemon movie "Giratina and the sky bonquet" and your second link well, i can't read japaness but i saw i picture that seem to come from movie 11. i think the pokemon people haven't even started pokemon movie 12.

I did get this from a google traslator, but I wonder what it means.
 
It could be true, as they always show a teaser for the next movie after the current movie's staff roll. In 2005 they announced "Pokémon Ranger" after the movie, which turned out to be not only the next movie, but also a game and it was hinted that it would also have to do with the TV series, which it did in a way.

I'm predicting a debate about whether "Diamond & Pearl & Platinum", it it's true, would be a new series or a season. :<

Also, I'd like to note that it's "Platinum", not "Platina". o.o I know about the Spanish origin of the Japanese Katakana (In fact I think I was one of the first to post about this on bmgf) but still it appears to be officially "Platinum", as you can see at www.pokemon.co.jp's site for the game located at /special/platinum/ and it's called "Pocket Monsters Platinum" in the English version of Junichi Masuda's blog.
Generally, products with "Platinum" in their English name, are then called プラチナ in Japan.

Yes they have. The US DVD release of the 8th movie had a "behind the scenes" video, where they stated that the work on the 8th movie started before the 7th was completely finished. and I think it was also stated in Pokebeach's interview.

They're probably going to keep the episode count but just give the show a new title.

Ash only has 4 Sinnoh badges, there's no reason to call the second half of Sinnoh a new series.

Hm that would probably argue for a "season". I guess like the Battle Frontier part of AG, though that only really appeared on the DVD covers or so.
Even though I could imagine that the logo will be changed, I do agree that it would probably be the same series continuing the episode count. o.o

How about Dialga -vs- Palkia, Giratina -VS- Darkrai,
Heatran -VS- Cresselia. It will be some huge legendary tournament with the ultimate winner getting to fight Arceus. Get this, the whole movie will be in 3D!
 
Skimming through the movie synopsis, the only detail that caught my attention was that the introduction scene featured a battle between Lucas and Brendan. Here's hoping that this is a foreshadowing of the last story battle in Platinum, but it might have been done just to parallel Dawn and May's Contest battle.

The author said that he found the movie to be less interesting than last year's movie. Their synopsis certainly makes it out to be bland.
 
It's kind of a stupid name, Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, but it seems to me like it could just be used in the movie over the actual series. The guy doesn't say anything about the actual series being named that. (But I stopped reading after he started giving spoilers to the 11th movie)

I know your logic, but it seems stupid. :p
(it as in the name, lol, not your idea which is pretty logical, lol)
 
I agree it's stupid to add Platinum (I prefered Platina since it's similar to Giratina but whatever) to the title
But there's no reason it'd be the title of the movie only - all the movies have "Pocket Monsters [title here] - The Movie: [movie title]" so why would movie 12 will randomly add Platinum to the title?

TV Tokyo's page for DP 87 had Piplup credited as one of the main characters in the VA list - which wasn't so until now
I think maybe in DPP Piplup will get moved to the main characters list in the ending credits so that's why they did it (it wasn't listed in the DP credits since it wasn't really in -all- the DP episodes... it's only lately that it decided to be out of ball)
So this is another thing that makes me believe this is right that they'll start a new series again

I hope they really change clothes again
I prefer Dawn's Platinum outfit over her current one
And it won't hurt Ash and Brock to change too

I am surprised that this falls under your definition of what "they have always done". Merely adjusting the title so as to represent the latest game is not indicative of an overhaul of the series. What exactly did you expect them to do as soon as the third game to Diamond and Pearl was released? The choice of "Diamond and Pearl" for the name of the series has always had an air of tentativeness, which is not to say that the series itself was designed to be halted before the climax of its story.

Resetting the episode count would do nothing more than create unnecessary confusion. Having the characters in new clothes (which is sheer speculation), let alone having Piplup as a credited cast member, would do little to distinguish the so-called new series from its predecessor. If the transition from Kanto to Orange Islands, from Orange Islands to Johto and from Hoenn to Battle Frontier went without special notice (in the form of the declaration of a new series), then it goes without saying that so will the transition from early-Sinnoh to late-Sinnoh.

It's simply my opinion - we'll wait and see
It's not like it'll change anything if the continue to count from DP or begin from 1

I just said maybe that's why Piplup was moved to main characters - it wasn't listed as main in DP since it wasn't in all of DP's episodes but now in DPP it'll be in all the episodes

I'm calling Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl: Arceus: Dialga vs Palka vs Giratina, actually.

The movie actually doesn't really seem so crowded when you know it will be revealed that Dialga and Palkia are the same entity. Then it's really just Arceus vs Giratina.

Well we're almost 90 episodes into DP and Ash only has 4 badges, who wants to bet the second half of the series will be anywhere from another 70-80 episodes?

If the gap between the Gyms is still as large, then I suppose the anime won't cover the Battle Frontier of Platinum. I fail to see how they would have time unless the 5th gen is still a few years off.
 
New Clothes=Nice.
Title for the 12th movie=Eh.
New series already=????

When we got to the second series of Advanced I don't think Ash/May/Max/Brock changed there clothes, why should this be any different?
 
If there is a series title change, the movie would definitely announce it, since the next movie would have to be released with that title.

As for the actual movie title itself, doesn't those get partly revealed in December then fully revealed by the following Feb.?
