Movie 9 Adaptation In Stores Now!

OK, so I railed against the movie as being the worst piece of crap in the entire series...but I had to buy the adaptation because I'm a sheep like that.

Two notes--

-Ash is drawn throughout without the zigzags on his face. I have no idea why.
-Phantom doesn't try to lift his submarine at the end, picking a far smaller pillar instead. I suppose it's more "believable" that he survives having *that* fall on him, but the falling submarine was probably the best part of the movie, if only for the sheer illogic of it all.

I adore Movie 9, so I'll be sure to pick it up (if I can even find it... I'll be sure to look in the kids' section this time around).

How should I know? I don't have the original anywhere around.

Although talking to you on IM revealed what scene you meant (going by "a certain scene involving May" I would have thought you meant the scene where she cries in Lizabeth's arms), and no, she's still naked underwater.


And yes, I found it in the kids section of Barnes & Noble.

Okay, so how was that other scene involving May portrayed? You know, the much-maligned ending involving her getting shafted so Ash can be the hero yet again?

That's the same. She goes into the temple, but when it starts filling with water, Ash puts her in the capsule and insists on saving the day again.

Chatot leaving Phantom is done differently. In the movie it flew to Jackie for no apparent reason other than it was an opportunistic little shit, but in here it falls into the water and Phantom takes off without it (he seems not to notice that it's gone rather than leaving it behind on purpose) and Jackie picks it up.

Phantom also denies that the temple will sink until it starts filling with water...but it *still* doesn't say why this would be such a bad thing (it seems to me that if it's filled with water, more pokemon could enter it, which would be a *good* thing).

I just ordered the Chuang Yi version of it. I wonder what are the differences between Viz's and Chuang Yi's versions.

Anyway, glad that Viz is back to Pokemon mangas. And isn't the Volume 2 of DP Manga already released?
