Hope this isn't too stupid a thread, but I figured some people might like to know about this.

*ahem*

In honor of Movie 20, TV Tokyo is playing three specials.

Movie 20 Website Updates with Info on Upcoming TV Specials

July 8 will be an airing of the Magearna/Volcanion movie (which will probably get more viewers than when it was in theaters :p)

July 13 is will be something for an hour and a half. My guess is some significant episodes (the first 3?) or some Pikachu shorts.

July 16 is a movie voted for by viewers and fans. Though I have to wonder what they're definition of "popular" is :cautious:

I think the July 13th stuff will also have more information about the new film.

Was going to vote for the third movie, but now I feel like voting for the first movie. :)
 
Heroes for me. Nothing can beat that bond between Latios and Latias and I consider the first film to be overrated anyways.
 
The first movie is overrated. Mewtwo needed appearances in the main series, a radio drama, a prequel, and a sequel to become an interesting character.

When I watched Mewtwo Strikes Back for the first time, I loved the film, but now? Please, Mew and Mewtwo both get inside a Protect bubble when battling. Mew is portrayed as a playful baby who is barely aware of what's going on during the entire film. You don't have two forces challenging one another. Mew just so happens to get into a fight with Mewtwo. All you have is Mewtwo trying to be a deep character and being all mad and angry at itself for being a clone and Mew for being the original.

And Ash turning into a statue and being revived by the power of magical tears is something that would work on a Disney movie, but the Pokémon franchise is a different story.

I wouldn't say the first movie is garbage, but it isn't this brilliant piece of work people make it out to be.
 
The movie site is awesome, there were some posters and trailers I hadn't seen before. Some of them might be useful to @Dogasu. I don't understand why the movies do this almost every year but the series very rarely mentions its past. Yeah, it takes a lot of time to watch a full series and just 2 hours to see a movie, but the movies are promotion for the series anyway, so what's the point?

Judging but recent polls and box office, I think the winner is a coin toss between 1,2, 11 and 13, but the west maybe could lean the scale to 1.

A lot of people love that movie. XD At least they were being honest with their choices and chose the movies they really like instead of just choosing the first movie for nestalgia reasons.

I agree, we need to see all of the movies in their rankings from the poll.
 
Such a great choice they've chosen. Considering it's my number one favourite Pokemon movie.
