The results of the movie star Pokémon popularity poll, which was closed on February 28, have been announced: out of Mewtwo, Lugia, Entei, Celebi, Latias and Latios, Jirachi, Deoxys, Mew and Lucario, and Manaphy, the most popular is Deoxys. The advance tickets for Dialga vs. Palkia vs. Darkrai will be on sale from April 21 to July 13, and will cost ¥1300 for a normal ticket, and ¥800 for a child's ticket. The movie premieres Saturday, July 14, 2007 nationwide in Japan. Details about the promotion will be published on the movie website mid-April.

Nice. Though I was pulling for Mewtwo, nice.
Surprising no one's gotten around to this one.

Now I finally have a credible source to back-up my reasons for why Deoxys has more of a chance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl! And THEY all thought Gardevoir was the only Pokemon liked, and Deoxys was not a fan-Legendary-favorite... I always had faith in it. :)

...Sorry, personal rambling.

Why would anyone even vote for Mewtwo or any other Legendary that can be easily obtained in game, though?

Who knows.

I wish this was through WiFi though...Deoxys is the only event ledgendary I really want (well, I want Darkrai and Arceus as well).

Yeah, the fact that Deoxys is one of the harder to obtain legendaries no doubt had an influence on the poll. If this was being held outside Japan, the chanses of Mew winning would've been fairly high.

Also the fact that it's among the most unique Pokemon ever created. But does this mean a proliferation of Deoxys on the GTS?

Does it matter? It would only be of interest to those who obtained it in FireRed or LeafGreen, cloned it in Emerald and transferred to Diamond and Pearl, and would now like to have an uncloned DS version. After all, the GTS requires that the player have at least partial PokéDex data of the desired Pokémon.

Space monkey~ *hearts*

He would've definitely been my choice if I had a chance to vote in the poll.
