Hey I always thought jynx was sort of the unofficial Mrs. Mime. I think were gonna get mime Sr before were gonna get a pokemon called Mrs. Mime.

I really agree that Mr. Mime should have been male-only, and that Jynx is sort of an unofficial "Mrs. Mime".

Mr. Mime was a mistake to begin with, though. I'm afraid to see what a spin-off/evolution would look like.

Mr. Mime's Japanese name doesn't name it a distinct gender. So there's really no need.

I've always seen Jynx as it, anyway, but eh.

I find the sex for mr mime very wrong. They should all be male.

I agree, also I believe Misdreavus should all be female. It has has "Mis" in its name and its face is clearly a woman's face. But also I agree with others that I always considered Jynx the sort of "Mrs" Mime.

Barriered( I think that is it's jap name) has nothing to due with being male only

You have to keep in mind that Mr. Mime was named before genders were even included in the games (at least applying to all Pokemon). So whoever officially renames them (localization team? Or is it someone else?) kind of dropped the ball on that one.

But I can sort of see why they did, Mr. Mime is very "masculine" at least it looks more like a male human than anything remotely looking female, but I guess when they thought of genders (the original game creators), they didn't want to include the complex nature that breeding a Jynx could result in either Smoochum or Mr. Mime, or maybe eventually the Mime Jr that came in 4th gen. Sort of like Illumise and how it can produce Volbeat or Illumise.

I also agree with Misdreavus I really dislike Pokemon with Masculine features or Feminine features when they can be both genders, it really doesn't (or shouldn't) make sense. I know they at least tried with Gallade, but still, its a bit weird to still have a male Gardevoir.

My female Machamp is very hurt by your comments. Also, she'd like to know where she can obtain a bra in her size.

Misdrevous comes from mischievous, so.... there.

AND YOUR FEMALE MACHAMP IS A SIN AGAINST GOD!

If I catch a female Mr. Mime I like to nickname it Ms. Mime. That's the closest I'd like to get to something like that.

IMO, there really shoulda been more gender-specific pokemon. Examples;
Female Mr Mime looks wrong.
Male Gardevoir looks wrong.
Female Machamp looks wrong. (Though, irony has it I caught a female machoke and named it Alys after my friend who likes to beat up boys)

Also, maybe some sort of gender-triggered evolution for eevee? I dunno, eevee seems to be going the way of Kirlia or Wurmple evolution-wise, since it's exhausted all other possiblities. (Evolution by stone, evolution by level up in a certain place, evolution by happines in day/night)

Never once considered Jynx a counterpoint to Mr. Mime at all. Considering it got a prevo along with Electabuzz and Magmar, I always fit her in with them (which is why I was devastated she didn't get an evo in Gen 4; hoping for one this time).

But Mr. Mime doesn't need, nor will it a counterpart, now that it has the prevo. A counterpoint (which is along the lines of Tauros and Miltank: alike but not related), maybe, but why bother?
