Multi-trades? (Trading features in-general thread)

I personally think it would be cool for a feature to allow multiple pokemon to be traded at once. For example, trainer 1 has a shelmet and a haunter. Trainer 2 has a karablast and kadabra. what if they could trade both at once?

another is example would be a 2 for 1 deal. Too many times people are fooled over forums and not given the full extent of the deal. Example, Trainer 1 is offering a victini. Trainer 2 then offers a shiny ditto and a modest charmander. the trade commences and victini is sent over for the modest charmander. BUT mid trade trainer 2 disconnects. Trainer two then pull a steal and is never heard from again.

I would like the concept of being able to offer multiple pokemon.
Example: Trainer 1 is offering a shiny Gallade fully evd with decent nature(this to me is a high valued pokemon)
Trainer two then offers up a modest charmander and adamant gible.
The trade menu allows trainer one to select both pokemon and trainer 2 to select the one gallade.

I also wish to have maybe a chat feature installed in gts negotiations

I would love to be able to swap multiple pokemon at the same time. Highlighting them the way you could in the box, and then sending them all at the same time would be a huge time saver.

There isn't a general trading mechanics thread to my knowledge, but as far as GTS goes, this already exists.

yeah and the amount of trades would greatly increase. people interacting would go way up, Which is what you want from a business standpoint. Nintendo has a real chance to capitalize here. multi trades would definitely be apealing

Discussion on the GTS should go in the thread GreatLiver linked, but this is ok for general discussion on trading mechanics. Trading multiple Pokemon at once would be really convenient and I'd welcome a feature like that. Id also like if you could trade over wi-fi outside the Pokemon Center but I dont know if that will happen.

sort of like just being able to access it anywhere? I like that idea. like maybe trading (wifi included) can go through a device u carry in your backpack or a watch. allowing you to trade anywhere

Something that would be cool would be three-way trades. For example, player one wants something that player two is offering, but player two wants what player three is offering and not what player one is offering, and player three wants what player one is offering. Instead of doing two trades for something you don't want only to trade it again, all three players are part of the same trade, and each player gets what he or she wants without any unneeded hassle. Similar to what sports teams do in real life.

Less complicated than what would happen if the situation that I mentioned happened with the current trading system. And it doesn't even seem that complicated. Pokémon one would go to player two, Pokémon two would go to player three, and Pokémon three would go to player one.
 
I love the idea of multiple Pokemon trades at once. I just don't think 2 for 1 will ever happen. Yea that ev trained shiny might be worth 2 pokes to a certain player, but overall, one is still losing an extra Pokemon. And with 2 at a time you could do trash trades to get the same result while neither player is losing an extra Pokemon
 
I don't think that, because of the way data is transmitted wirelessly from one system to another, that multi-trades may ever come to fruition, or at least not in the generation of handhelds. Have you noticed how long just one trade takes? Imagine trading several times that many, especially if signal strength is weak or there's a disruption in the connection. It sounds pretty risky to me, personally.

I do have an alternative idea: Nintendo could create a 3DS app that allows us to deposit all the Pokemon we wish, and then we could swap cartridges and withdraw the Pokemon through the same app in another game. Kind of like Pokemon Box. This could also be a method to transfer Pokemon from 5th Gen to 6th Gen.
 
I also find multiple trades would make a good time saving feature. What I would find most useful would be to 'transfer Pokemon' between games, as opposed to just transferring between generations, for those that want to have all your Pokemon on the newer game you purchased, without having to first capture hundreds of wild Pokemon, and then individually trade each Pokemon, one by one. I did that with Pokemon Black and Black 2. Never again.
 
I actually thought this was the case when I traded with my friends in BW2. We already have the option to "offer up a maximum of 3 pokemon" as it is, so I could see them taking it a step further and actually letting people trade those slots.
 
Cool idea. The positive effect is saving the trading time, but on the downside, this could make extra internet traffic congestion. Anyways, I hope for that.
 
I totally agree with this. Some of the trades I did involved multiple Pokémon, and this would be great. Trading one at a time is very time-consuming.
 
You should be able to be able to simply give pokemon instead of having to trade. I'd also like to be able to give multiple pokemon at once.
