Obsolete Music, Films, TV that you initially hated, but now really enjoy

Everyone on here that knows me knows how much I love music. Many albums and songs I love the first time I hear them, but others I really don't like, only to give it another try and find myself really enjoying it.

Lately, the most notable example for me would Kanye's Yeezus album. Initially thought it was utter rubbish, some interesting sounds, but instantly binnable. But I gave it another go, two years after release, and now I love it. To a smaller degree I also now love Kanye's 808s & Heartbreak, not as much as Yeezus, but still really do enjoy it when I initially passed it off as boring autotune pop. I think over the years I'm no longer in the mindset that autotune is always awful, sure there's lots of bad usage, but I like it when it's used artistically.

So, how about you?

I know this isn't the anime forum, but I have to mention Dragon Ball Z. When I first watched it, I thought it was beyond stupid... Like it was just a bunch of guys with big muscles acting constipated. Maybe that's all it amounts to either way, but when I went back and watched the original Dragon Ball, I enjoyed it and it led me into actually watching DBZ.

There's also King of the Hill. I must note I never hated it. I just found it excessively boring. Probably because it requires an attention span to enjoy, and I'd usually have it running in the background. When I watched it, it was actually pretty great.

I used to hate the Punk/Pop-Punk genre (honestly don't really know the difference lol) back in my high school days. I thought it was just loud "noise". I was rather snobby and closed-minded back then. Since then I have been able to find an appeal in it and related genres (like Ska-Punk). Admittedly, I still find it weird that I listen to the music, just because typically the music I like is less heavy. lol Most of the music I listen to my parents' generation likes, and a lot of it even my grandparents' generation would like! Punk is just so out there for me. lol

Shows that rely on satirical humor, like The Colbert Report and American Dad are this. Heavy Metal in general to me as well, and more recently, electronica.
