Just a little heads up, I've never actually done an RP before, so if this comes off amatuerish in any way, please excuse my "noobness". Anyways, this RP will follow a few guidelines:

1. The story will be developed as more people contribute; if nobody does, then you'll just a have a little short story to read here, I guess... In the event people do participate, please be patient for my responses; I'm pretty busy in real life.

2. I've got a few restrictions so bear with me; the story will have Pokemon themselves as characters (much like the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games), so you can't roleplay as a human character, not even an OC of yours. If this actually becomes a hit though, I may do another that allows that! Also, try not to be too violent or sexual when you join this RP; kids could be reading this, and many of them may be guests without an account!

3. If you participate, make sure you give a bit of a background to your role so I know how my character should interact with yours. Be they an old friend, longtime rival, or sworn enemy. Additionally, once a Pokemon has been taken for a role by someone else, you can't use that same Pokemon; so be sure to read all other responses before replying.

4. Some aspects from the games will apply to the story; these include type effectiveness, Abilities, and hold items. There's no four-move limit here though, but review your Pokemon's move pool on Bulbapedia first so they aren't OP!

Alright, with the boring part out of the way, let's start this party!

JBX9001's Character - Nobishi

Species: Froakie evolutionary line (is currently a Greninja)

Background: Nobishi is a skilled ninja leader who hails from Froakie Forest, a wooded wetland that is home to his kind. Despite being a goofball in his youth, Nobishi grew to become a respected and dignified figure of authority in his clan (even at a young age for an adult). He has traveled abroad many times to gain allies for Froakie Forest, and while he was successful in some areas, he still had his enemies. Nobishi was especially chosen to be leader because he was born with the Hidden Ability Protean, which allows him to change his type with every attack, and thus avoid being harmed by moves that would normally be super effective. He holds the Splash Plate, which powers up his Water-type moves; the elders of his homeland believe it is a sign that Arceus is protecting Nobishi, and thus he has been sent on a mission to gather all of Arceus's scattered Plates across the world.

It is mid-morning on the Perfect Plains, a grassland region not too far from Froakie Forest. Nobishi has walked quite a ways from the forest, and is embarking on this mission alone, with only the Splash Plate he holds, some money, and a supply of Berries to keep from going hungry

Nobishi: "What a pleasant day it is! But alas, I can't simply kick back and enjoy the spring breeze; this mission of mine is probably my most important one yet! I just wish the elders would've given me a map or told me where to start... Maybe I should've brought some maps back from the areas I visited during my ambassador trips; then finding those Plates would be all the more easier! Well, as easy as it can be to go all over the place risking my life to find some magic stone tablets... Well, enough talking to myself, I wonder which Plate I should go for first...?"

Hey there! :D I hope I'm not too late!

Selene sat on a patch of clean grass and picked delicately at the fresh salad of berries in her lap. She swirled the dark juices within her mouth and let its acidity fan out and tingle across her tiny tongue. Despite being young, gorgeous and swelling with power, the Gardevoir led a solitary and idyllic life. Nobody disturbed her - word of her formidable powers spread throughout the Forest - and she didn't disturb anybody. Selene's leisurely lunch was interrupted by a faint vibration coming from the Pixie Plate at her feet. She turned from her berry salad to the pink tile and picked it up in her hands. It was strangely warm, as though it was blushing in excitement. Little did she know that this meant that another of Arceus' plates was nearby.

I thought no one was gonna reply at this point! Better late than never I guess! Anyways...

Before he had much time to think of his first destination, Nobishi felt his Splash Plate vibrating.

Nobishi: ("Huh? I don't think the Splash Plate's ever done this before! It feels kinda weird... Maybe this means... another Plate is near here?")

Still holding the Splash Plate, Nobishi quickly checks his surroundings. Noticing that the vibrations are stronger in one direction, he begins heading that way. Simple enough, but his instincts as a ninja began to complicate the situation

Nobishi: ("Hold on; I might not be the only one searching for Arceus' Plates... This might very well be a trap to catch me off guard and steal the one I have! It might be best to use Shadow Sneak first and see what I'm in for...")

Selene sensed a presence drawing near to her, just as the Pixie Plate began trembling at a steady frequency. She pushed her salad off her lap and sprang to her feet, looking around for a disturbance. Her psychic senses drew her attention to a space between the trees, where light didn't seem to permeate as much as it should. She peered closer, and closer... and saw a frog-shaped shadow looking at her. Selene screamed and fired a beam of Fairy light at it, hoping to ward off this intruder.

Nobishi: ("CRAP!")

Nobishi had not been counting on the Gardevoir to to notice his presence that quickly. He jumps to dodge the attack, but the blast manages to graze him

Nobishi: "ACK! (She noticed me almost immediately! Drat! It's a good thing I became Ghost type after using Shadow Sneak, or I'd really be hurt!)"

Climbing up into the treetops, he prepares to use Water Shuriken, but a different plan comes to mind when he notices the Pixie Plate nearby her

Nobishi: ("Wait a minute; that Gardevoir seems more powerful than others like her... Could this perhaps be the mysterious Selene? It'd probably be in my best interest not to make enemies with her, especially since she has one of the Plates I'm looking for. If I play my cards right, perhaps I may gain in ally for my quest!")

Nobishi stops charging the Water Shuriken he was preparing to throw, and climbs down from the tree he was perched in. He steps out from the shadows slowly, arms held out to show he means no harm.

Nobishi: "Please forgive my intrusion, I have no intention to attack you. I am Nobishi, leader of my clan in Froakie Forest. I am on a quest to gather all of Arceus' Plates so that I may be bestowed the power to protect my homeland. The Plate I hold seems to have reacted to yours, but I had no idea if I was walking into a trap, so I took precautions. You got me pretty good though; very impressive!"

Selene was wary around Dark-type Pokemon, and particularly so when it came to powerful ones like this Greninja; she was unable to browse their thoughts, and had no idea if they told the truth. Even worse, she caught of a glimpse of the Water Shurikens that Nobishi had been charging up prior to being discovered. She eyed the Greninja suspiciously as she cradled the Pixie Plate towards her chest.

"Is that so?" Selene asked. "How would holding on to all the Plates help you to protect your homeland?" Despite her cold exterior, the Pixie Plate exuded warmth at being near its sister.

Nobishi could sense a bit of distrust in Selene's voice. Of course, he could understand why; Dark type Pokemon have a terrible reputation for being mischievous and often times grow up to become cruel, sadistic or just downright evil, even more so than Ghost types! Psychic types in particular feared and despised them, since they are immune to their main attacks and are powerful against them. Gaining her trust would prove to be difficult...

Nobishi: "Well, the elders of my clan tell me that I was born with some sort of "Hidden Ability". Whenever I use an attack, my type changes to match the move I used last. For that reason, they believe that if I master every move and possess every Plate to correspond to them, I can defeat any foe that attacks the forest! But I'm not sure if I can learn every single move... I see you possess the Pixie Plate; by chance are you gathering them as well?"

Selene investigated Nobishi's expression and found nothing but earnestness. Still, she knew that appearances could be manufactured.

"I'm not collecting these plates," she said. "But I am part of a Fairy Tribe that lives in these hills. As the only fully-evolved Psychic-Fairy type, it's my duty to guard this Pixie Plate from anyone who might seek it for unworthy ends. I can tell when a Pokemon is being truthful," she narrowed her eyes as she locked hers against his, "but not for you."

"Prove it," Selene said. "Show me what this Hidden Ability can do."
