Hey Bulbagarden Forums, long time bulbapedia-user and lurker here

So after all the starter hype, I decided to make some sprites of them using the program Paint.NET

I'm kind of a beginner at this, so all I did was take the pictures of the starters and then scaled them to 100x100 pixels, then after that I outlined them and made the colors as basic as possible

I know I missed some of the details on Tsutaaja/Grass (nose&mouth?) and some on Mijumaru/Water (freckles/whiskers), but I'll edit them later

Here they are:

And yeah, I registered just to post these :p

EDIT: No comments yet? Lol I must be a bad artist, then XD

Anyways, I finished spriting the girl character of Pokemon B&W using the same art style:

This one took me longer than the starters, I tried using GIMP 2.6 for this one. Like before, I minimized the image to 100 pixels in width, and outlined the image in black. Then I used the magic wand to find similar patches of colors and gave that patch one color. I do this for the entire thing until the sprite only has a few shades of each color.

I guess I should ask, how do my sprites look? And if anyone could tell me how I could make the same sprites in a shorter amount of time using a different technique? Please give me some feedback.

EDIT: Finished male character sprite, and I also took off the outlines..

They look OKAY, but you might want to add some more outline to them!

Also, first post xD

Alright, I'll add outlines to them later. I only took them off to try something new, I kind of like that kind of art style, but I guess they're not really sprites if they don't have outlines.

~ Yeah, the sprites did have outlines before. Why does everyone start posting after I take them off? XD
