Here are some of the awful banners that I made. I decide to show them because I can. So here they are in no particular order.

These are pretty good, but I think you could impprove by: adding effects, such as brushes, smudging, layering, and all that good stuff ^^. Also, work on extracting images.
What do you use for doing these?
 
I use GIMP. I really only know the basics.
 
Those are actually pretty good. Why you say they'e bad is beyond me...

They are all pretty good. But for my opinion, the "ROOT" one wasn't that interesting to me.
