My big idea stopper

This is the one problem stopping me from making the story go forward for my foxes. I had this idea for my foxes to fight elemental beings. But this is where things get flash froze. The elemental beings are made of pure element. What I mean by that is: The fire element. Made of nothing but fire. The water. Made of nothing but water.
The foxes are just normal foxes that can talk and other stuff. Can anyone please help me?
Oh and thanks to all that gave me ideas for my fox and wolf family connection.

The animals are good at parkour, speech, and one of them has rabies. But rabies can't hurt the elements of nature. I made it kinda realistic...so if I was to change it.....it wouldn't be the same. But the animals don't have any spells or nothing.

There's fire, water/ice/gas, electricity, wind, earth/mud/stone, grass, sound, light, dark, glass

Okay, can the foxes use some of their (foxes') elemental resources to defeat the elemental beings? Think of it like Pokémon type matchup?

Fire: Foxes use a lake's water or something to put out the fire.

Water: Some powerful plants soak up all the water? I dunno. lol.
Ice: Fire obviously defeats ice, so they could start a forest fire...:/ it might cause other problems
Gas: What defeats gas, I have no idea.

Electricity: I don't know how ground could defeat it...

Wind: In Pokémon, people defined Flying-types as birds to find their weaknesses, so unless the being is a bird, I don't know any weakness to that.

Earth: Flood? Again, it might cause other problems.
Mud: I honestly don't know.
Stone: A strong fox or whatever can karate-chop the stones? Hehe

Grass: Same thing as the Ice. Or you can poison the being with poisonous plants or whatever.

Sound: Gee, I do not know.

Light: Darkness, but I don't know which defeats which.

Dark: Light, but same reason as light.

Glass: Glass gets pulled down with enough gravity and velocity and it smashes.

Sorry, it's just that some of these things seem impossible to defeat; I'll think about it more or other people could answer that. Is this what you wanted?

Nice job stumping me on this one. ^_^' It was really hard finding some solutions...-v-
