My Computer makes People sound like Electronic Chipmunks!

I really don't know how in the world it happened but somehow any sound that comes out of my computer, (via speakers and head phones) whether it is the startup welcoming sound or any video or audio that I play online has been given an ultra high pitch to it.

I have checked all my computer audio settings, switched my speakers and earphones with others and fiddled with my sound card, but the high pitchedness just hasn't gone away!!!

Now I'm stuck with everyone sounding like "Alvin and the Chipmunks" in any video I play, and Windows Help service ain't no help at all.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Ever? Then how'd you get rid of it?

Mabye you need to just switch out your sound card.

Is your soundcard on board or a card on a PCI slot? DO you have drivers for the soundcard? Try updating the drivers if you can or if its PCI card, take out the soundcard and put it back in, might help, if those are not the case, I dont know.

Your soundcard may be bad. Either that or you may need a driver update (use the correct drivers.)
