My Diamond won't load my save.

I'm not sure if this thread goes here, but I figure if it doesn't someone will move it.
Today I accidentally removed my game card while the game was on. The DS was on sleep mode and I replaced the card immediately, but didn't pay attention to whether the DS turned on/off. Now I found it off, which surprised me, and when I select my save from the main menu only a black screen appears. Anyone run into anything similar? Can't seem to find anything on Google...

^What version of DS do you have? if it's the standard one I suggest getting a DS.I XL as it has a soft game reset power button that might help stop ^things like that from happening

It's a DS lite, but how would have soft resetting it have helped?

I tried selecting new game to see if I could access the game, and I could, but this is really worrying me, I don't want to have to start all over

Oh and I can't soft reset from the dual black screens of unloading.

Try selecting new game but don't press anything if it comes up with an error can't save then you'll know if it works or not

Then you've probably ended the life of it cause you could get to the final E4 member(Lucian)go to save after or before facing him turn it off then on again to find your back at the start of it again

Also, prlly unrelated, but my saphires internal batter ran dry D: not a good day for me i guess.
If I'm reading your post correctly, yeah I could go all the way up to the E4 w/o saving but why would I? I can't trade I can't save and I sure aren't going to fulfill my dream of a full pokedex. I might try deleting the old save and start over, but I just don't want all those hours spent catching pokes to be gone.

Tried importing some Pokemon from Sapphire, hoping that since the game would have to save it would be fixed, but nothing. That deletion of my save is looking very tempting.
