My Double Battle Team (First Team)

Okay! I finally made a competitive battle team. This is my first time so please do give me suggestions. I'm not done with evolving but however, I'm done with IV breeding and EV training. This is double battle because I also enter Nintendo's Official Tournaments.

Toxicorak @ Focus Sash
Ability: Dry Skin
Nature: Jolly
EV's: 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed
- Cross Chop
- Sucker Punch
- Fake Out
- Taunt

Suicune @ Lum Berry
Nature: Calm
EV's: 252 HP / 4 Defense / 252 Sp. Defense
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Calm Mind
- Protect

These two are my lead. Toxicorak flinches their leads and Suicune uses Surf to support Toxicorak.

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Nature: Impish
EV's: 252 HP / 4 Attack / 252 Defense
- Shadow Sneak
- Fire Punch
- Rock Slide
- Protect

This is my Physical Wall. He has Max Stats in Defense so he should endure most Physical attacks from Sweeper.

Salamence @ Yache Berry
Nature: Modest
EV's: 6 HP / 252 Sp. Attack / 252 Speed
- Hydro Pump
- Heat Wave
- Dragon Pulse
- Protect

Salamence is my Special Sweeper. Heat Wave should take care most Bug/Grass type Pokemon and Hydro Pump for Fire/Rock/Ground type. In my opinion, Draco Meteor should do more damage than Dragon Pulse.

Metagross @ Life Orb / Choice Scarf
Nature: Adamant
EV's: 252 HP / 252 Attack / 4 Speed
- Explosion / Trick
- Ice Punch
- Meteor Mash
- Rock Slide

Thanks Edo-kun and WaterUser for his suggestions. I'm positive about using Explosion with Dusknoir/Protected Pokemon Combo. Explosion OHKO most Pokemon.

Zapdos(?) @ Wise Glasses / Life Orb
Nature: Timid
EV's: Level 50 UT
- Discharge / Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave / Hidden Power [Grass 45]
- Roost
- Detect

I thought Zapdos would be a good Pokemon to add in my team. Many VGC players use Zapdos.

You seem to really like Protect as you have it on almost all of your Pokemon.
If I were you, I would teach Dusknoir Will-o-Wisp and replace Wise Glasses with Life Orb or Focus Sash.

Hibari is Jolteon's nickname I gave and I think you should be able to tell my sprites. Please do not post if you have no suggestions.

empoleon is too much like Suicune. Add Avalanche or Ice beam instead.

About Suicune, I have a replacement for him. I'm thinking of going with Metagross.

EV's: 252 HP / 252 Attack / 4 Speed

- Meteor Mash / Bullet Punch
- Earthquake / Rock Slide
- Ice Punch / Thunder Punch

This is double battle so I'm using of using Explosion. This guy should really work with Dusknoir.

About the Empoleon, I though using Icy Wind would be better because it gives damage to both opponent's Pokemon and also lowers Speed.

Do NOT put Explosion on Metagross unless you are absolutely POSITIVE that you'll be able to bring it in with Dusknoir. It will KO everything else on your team in a heartbeat except MAYBE Suicune. But if you're replacing something, I would actually replace Empoleon. Metagross can learn Stealth Rock too, so you don't even lose that.

Oh, and Icy Wind may hit both opponents, but keep in mind that it's power is halved BECAUSE it hits both opponents. You're probably better off with Ice Beam on Suicune.

[Cheesus Is Lord]

Explosion is one of the most useful moves in double battles and can always find a place on your team. Plus, with your heavy use of Protect (which is a good thing), you should be able to use it with several other Pokemon. On the other hand, I love the idea of Trick Metagross in doubles, where a choice item is a much bigger liability.
