Been wanting to make a thread here for a while, but kept putting it off. ^^; Here's some of my old drawings; got some new junk I have been working on that I want to add to this later. Any feedback would be super appreciated! Always looking to improve...

Re: My Pogeymons

You've got some awesome art here! I love how you colored Lugia; it looks like it has a "glow" to it, which is lovely! :D

I'm a tiny bit bugged by how you colored some of your pictures, though. Flareon especially I think lacks actual shading and seems more like you substituded that with darker lines in odd places, making it look a little strange. Your coloring in general looks a bit sketchy (messily sketchy) so I'd definitely recommend to practice that a little more ^_^ Though despite all of this, I think you're amazingly talented and want to see more soon!

That's a very interesting style. All the pokemon look like real wild creatures. I love how there's the glare effects here and there, and the hard lines you can see close up keep my interest. What program did you make these in?

Hey, thanks for the feedback. As for the messiness, I know what you mean. Hah. The majority of these were drawn right after I got a tablet, and I was still getting used to the coloring aspect of it. I kept using it like a pencil sized on 1 pixel. Some of the sketchiness was intentional, like Flareon. :x But others, like Arcanine and Salamence were not. Certainly something I need to work on. Thanks again. :3

Thanks a lot. :D That's an enormous compliment for me, because realism is what I strive most for. And I drew these on Photoshop Elements 7 :)x) using regular brush tool, smudge tool, and some simple lighting effects.

Re: My Pogeymons

OH MY GAWD. This is AMAZING. I love how you seem to put as much effort into the background as ou do the pokemon.

And lol at the lion king, that's epic.

Re: My Pogeymons

Thank you, Thanatos! ^^

And heehee, I love the Lion King movie. Entei as Mufasa was too epic to resist...

Re: My Pogeymons

Yep! I could imagine Raikou as Scar too!

Re: My Pogeymons - Now with graphics!

Might as well add some of my graphic art to this as well. :D *pretends she hasn't let the thread collect dust for several months*

Re: My Pogeymons - Now with graphics!

The ONLY thing that bothers me about these is that the line contrast in a lot of the images in the first post feels a bit too sharp for my liking, notably in Salamence, Arcanine, Umbreon and Mightyena. And even that could be softened with a quick bit of blending, which should make it look more like the Lugia image you did. Aside from that, they're amazing.

Lugia and Blitzle look great, and I really love your take on Vaporeon. Magnifique!

@_@?

That's very flattering. Undeserving, but thank you. xD

Thanks! What do you mean by the line contrast exactly? :x The sharpness of the lines themselves, or the harsh color contrast? Will definitely keep that in mind, though. Thank you very much for the feedback. :3

Both, sort of. In the shading and highlights, the lines you used for some images end up being too thin for the difference in color between them and the background hue. But like I said, a little bit of blending would clear it up magnificently, so it's no big deal.

Ah, yeah, the sketchiness needs work. Will keep this in mind. Thanks again.

I should really use my tablet more often!

Update - Pidgeot:

Just something I found myself drawing randomly. v_v

Great detail work. The sketchiness has been greatly reduced. :D

Scary realistic looking. Especially the eyes. The wing angles look weird, but I know virtually nothing about bird anatomy, so maybe that's just me. Did you use a reference?

Yay, thanks! I hope you mean its right wing, because that pesky thing was annoying the crap out of me. XD Finally settled for some deceptive shading. D: And I'm actually pretty terrible at sticking to references. I usually glance over a couple actual photographs of whatever animal I'm basing off of, but then forget about it entirely. Would probably help to use those more...

@EmBreon; That Pidgeot is really cool! O: You've got the detailing on the feathers down pretty well. The eye looks pretty real too! o:

Thanks Blazaking! :D I was a little unsure about the feathers, glad it's believable. :3

Anyone have any suggestions of what I could draw next? xD I'm open to a challenge!
