This is my second competitive team I've made. The first was sub-par, so I took another shot at it.
Mostly I want feedback on the various types of synergy these team members have with each other, since my other team has zero focus on that, but I'll take set suggestions too. I've only tested one battle with this team, and I only used 2/3 of them, so I'm not yet sure if they're perfect.
Without further ado, here's my team!

Staraptor @ Life Orb
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Double-Edge
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- Roost

Staraptor is the centerpiece to this team. I wanted to use one... yeah.
It's a pretty standard set (or so it seems to me). Reckless boosts the power of his already STAB Double-Edge and Brave Bird, and Life Orb just tops it off for a pure-force mess. Roost gives him recovery, because otherwise he would kill himself extremely quickly.
I'm still scared of him OHKOing himself. I haven't had a chance to use him yet.

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
- Leech Seed
- Protect

Ferrothorn is a nice defensive Pokemon and helps the rest of the team with their weaknesses. He can absorb Rock-type moves aimed at Staraptor and Charizard with ease, especially since they're 95% physical, and can take some Electric moves for StarIzard and Jellicent.
I'm not sure about Ferrothorn and Char-Y being on the same team, though. Seems like a bad combination.

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Dragon Pulse
- Flash Cannon
- Flamethrower

Not so sure if Hydreigon really fits in with the rest of the team. I read somewhere that Hy resists all of Jelli's weaknesses, and so I put him on. It was late.
I think I may just entirely replace him with Char-Y. He has a weakness to Fighting that the team can't really tolerate, and the same with Ice. And Fairy.
Anyway, he's here to be my primary special sweeper, and a defensive partner to Jellicent, in a way.

Jellicent (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Toxic
- Protect

Jellicent makes a great special wall and provides a much-needed Fighting immunity to the team. It can also (literally) absorb Water moves for Char and Excadrill. Scald and burn and Toxic can poison, and he's great at crippling the opponent.

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Air Slash
- Solar Beam
- Roost

I honestly just put him in because I didn't have a Mega and thought I should take advantage of that feature, but he's turning out to be really useful. He has a Fighting-type resistance, which the team needs, and is really just a good special sweeper.

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

With StarIzard on the team, I needed good Rapid Spin support. Excadrill also frees a moveslot for Ferrothorn with Stealth Rock, something he was originally going to have. He also takes no damage from Electric-type moves, something the rest of the team has a slight issue with.

So... tell me what you think!

EDIT: I'm thinking about replacing Hydreigon with an Infernape anti-lead with something like Fake Out, <fire STAB>, <fighting STAB>, Mach Punch/<other>. Does that sound good? Or maybe a double screen lead, which is something that I use a lot.

EDIT 2: I tried out a Klefki double screen lead with Foul Play/Thunder Wave/Light Screen/Reflect. It seems to work well. Staraptor probably needs to switch Double-Edge with U-turn, I think.

EDIT 3: I also tried out an Umbreon to fill out the defensive synergy, but I don't think he's really working too great.
