These are my opinions. Please respect the fact that I may have different opinions and viewpoints than you, for I will respect yours. If you are very offended and you want to say something offensive back to me, then ... well, don't say it. I would love it if you were all respectful and courteous. Thank you, all <3

I'm not a Pokémon veteran; my first Pokémon game was Pokémon Black, so I'm a late starter. But I've watched walkthroughs of older games (Blue, Ruby, etc.) and I have played Pokémon Platinum. I liked those games.

But I have mixed feelings about Generation VI.

I personally don't like the starter Pokémon. They just don't look appealing to me, and I think that's a big issue. If Pokémon X were to be my first ever Pokémon game, my first impressions would be based on the starter Pokémon. When I started playing Pokémon Black, I vividly remember seeing the three starters (Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott) and it took me nearly ten minutes to choose a starter Pokémon because they all looked very impressive. But Pokémon X? Eh. Fennekin was probably an exception, but I was never quite pleased.

(Small side note, sorry if I spell(ed) some names wrong. It's been a while since I've played Pokémon...)

Also, Mega Evolutions. They're actually pretty cool, but I don't really like them. I don't really know why...it just defeated the way Pokémon battles were for the past several years. It was probably like when double, triple, and rotation battles made their debut. Mixed feelings. I just don't like Mega Evolutions. I can't fully explain why (because I do suck at explaining) but I just don't like them.

The most irritable thing to me about Pokémon X is the graphics. It's freaking 3D. You can also now move diagonally. Hhhh it makes me uncomfortable. Pokémon was 2D / 2-and-a-half-D for so many years that the fact that now it's suddenly 3D freaks me out. On the contrary, it's nice to explore a Pokémon world with a different perspective.

Maybe I'm just retro? Maybe I don't like change?

Now, I've actually never completed Pokémon X because Mario stole my heart, but the first impressions of the game sucked for me.

What were your first impressions of Generation VI? How has your impression sustained / changed over the course of playing the game? Any thoughts?

I would restart my Pokémon X, but our Pokémon Bank subscription expired ... it's no use asking mom ...
