Well I'm new to the WiFi battling, so I'm sure to see many errors and flaws with what I'm doing, which is why I'm posting here. I've been over at Smogon and checked out some things like tiers, and such and came up with this team for UU and below. I've been spending alot of time building this team with (hopefully) proper EV training.

The team is build to be bulky and capable of dishing out damage, as well as having overall coverage.
They should be as so (unless I've made a mistake somewhere).

Spr_4d_344.png

Claydol (lead)
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpA
Nature: Bold
Item: leftovers
-Rapid Spin
-Stealth rock
-Earth Power
-Shadow Ball
Claydol is sent out first to plant the stealth rocks and rapid spin any thats layed on its side. Moving on from there its main attacks are a STAB earth power and a shadow ball for coverage.

Spr_4d_115.png

Kangaskhan (physical sweeper)
Ability: Scrappy
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4HP, 252Atk, 252Spe
Item: Choice Band
-Return
-Thunder Punch
-Sucker Punch
-Earthquake
I chose this Pokemon for the reason that It has Scrappy which allows it to hit ghost types. Asides from that it has good coverage and a pretty strong base stats to begin with. Return is there for STAB damage.Thunder Punch has replaced Hammer Arm to give coverage and deal with the teams water weakness. Sucker punch is again for priority and psychics. Earthquake is overall usefull and is a better alternative against Rocks/Steels.

Spr_4p_379.png

Registeel (tank)
EVs: 252HP, 100Atk, 156Sp.D
Nature: Careful
Item: Leftovers
-Stealth Rock
-Thunder Wave
-Earthquake
-Iron Head
This is essentially the main tank of this team. It would usually come in after Spiritomb to set up stealth rocks and paralyze the enemy. If any trouble comes its way like fire types it would use Earthquake. Iron head is there for STAB and a way to deal with ghost types that might become problematic with this Pokemon.

Spr_4p_481.png

Mesprit (special sweeper)
EVs: 4HP, 252Spe, 252Sp.A
Nature: Timid
Item: Leftovers
-Calm Mind
-Psychic
-Ice Beam
-Substitute
Calm mind is a given as it's a sweeper and benefits greatly from it. Psychic is its STAB move and give great coverage. Ice beam is to compliment its coverage and allow it to hit dragons/flying/grass types. Substitute is for status prevention. Not much more to say.

Spr_4d_059.png

Arcanine (bulky)
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Bold
Evs: 240HP, 168Def, 72Spe, 28Sp.A
Item: Leftovers
-Will-O-Wisp
-Hidden Power (Ground)
-Flamethrower
-Roar
Will-O-Wisp + intimidate are put together to severely dent the enemies power. Hidden power is for coverage and combating other fire types who are unaffected by Will-O-Wisp. Flamethrower is the STAB move of this pokemon and Roar is to try and abuse leftovers and Stealth rock if its up.

Spr_4p_350_m.png

Milotic (Tank)
EVs: 152HP, 80Def, 220Sp.A, 56Sp.D
Nature: Modest
Item: Life Orb
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Hidden power (Electric)
-Recover
Surf is the STAB move on this Pokemon and does neutral damage for the most part and has good PP. Ice beam is there to deal with grass types that might switch in. Hidden power is to deal with other water types that might come up and be problematic. Recover, Well its a tank so it very useful to have.

Edit 1: Replaced Spiritomb with Claydol, gave kangaskhan Choice band and replaced Hammer arm with Thunder Punch.

Well this team is an overall good team, since I am in a rush to go do Homework, I'll tell you:
Kangaskhan is not a good Physical sweeper compared to others like:

~ Swords Dance
~ Aerial Ace
~ Brick Break
~ Bug Bite

252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
@ Life orb
Jolly

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

Khangaskan is a perfectly capable sweeper and scyther shouldnt be used with out a spinner.

Also, please give comments, its hard to rate without them.

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

Yeah please read this whole thread next time.

Post comments on what each Pokemon does, what went into making the team, what problems you have, etc etc.

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

That team looks pretty good (I happen to be a big bulky offense fan!), though I don't think Kanga is as hard hitting as some other threats. It does have good coverage, though. The main issue is that your team is slow and susceptible to Taunt, so perhaps in Kanga's place you could put a good scarfer. However, nothing I'm thinking of right now has better coverage or "power moves" than Kanga, so I would test what you have now and see how it goes. Fast things with Substitute such as SubRoost Moltres can give you problems in particular.

@Badal: Scyther is not Moltres or Scizor. You absolutely have to have a spinner for it to work and it's fragile. :|

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

Ok sorry I forgot to put comments on each one i missed that while i was reading the rules. I updated them with comments.

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

Spell Tag on Spiritomb? You need to go with Leftovers. I do like that you did not use Flash Fire on Arcanine, but keep in mind, you may actually want it.

To back this up: Flash Fire is pretty useful to take Fire attacks, but Arcanine might need Intimidate to take physical hits better.

Also, you're going to need a Rapid Spinner (because of Arcanine's Stealth Rock weakness)

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

To clarify yes HE (I'm not shouting just making it visible).

I chose Intimidate because it help Arcanine switch in more easily so that it can have a better chance of surviving. As for a rapid-spinner I'm open to suggestions, but this team as far as i could tell worked well to cover weaknesses. So if a good rapid-spinner can be implemented i'm all ears (or eyes in this case)

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

How about Claydol in place of Registeel or Spriritomb (I think it would go better as a lead)? Claydol has amazing defenses, and can set up Stealth Rock, and poison it's foes, and can Rapid Spin. It's only drawbacks are it's attack stats and it's speed.

Read the first moveset on this Smogon page, called Utility. (Click the underlined word)

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

what about trying out using mesprit to set up?
(i also love that there is another mesprit user out there)
try putting it out first
get calm nature mesprit(special defence up, attack down)
give it stealth rock and get ride of substitute( its unneeded)
give it trick(with choice specks/scarf) and get ride of calm mind(its special attack is already high enough)

Ok, I'm intrigued by Claydol. It has a very good coverage in terms of support/set up and decent stats, and seems to make a good lead. I'll try to get one up there and replace it with Spiritomb (2 reasons, if i used it, it would be as a lead and Registeel is possible one of my top 10 favorites)but I'd have to see how this team fairs as is. The only thing bothering me about this guy is its weaknesses to the common moves like ghost/water/ice/dark.

I've though about it but making it the sweeper really seems best to me. It's got great stats in everything except Speed and HP, which kind of makes it good in terms of both defense and offense. As for using it to set up i already have Registeel for that and possibly Claydol. Regardless thank you for that suggestion.

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

spiritomb's value as a lead has been greatly decreased with froslass gone. Claydol also has value as a lead because if an electric type switches in on milotic, you have no one to switch to. Nasty plot raichu sweeps your team clean with a bit of support, but something like claydol (or another ground type) stops that.

Hmm thank you for that piece of information, i didn't realize that weakness at all.

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

Yeah, Coolking makes a good point. I think Claydol will be a good choice.

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

I Just tried the team out with my friend (with Spiritomb and Claydol), and I noticed a few things along the way. It's difficult for me to switch in Claydol because of its weaknesses, and spiritomb doesn't live long. Also water types seem to be a weakness of mine since my only counter is my milotic with hidden power electric. I'm thinking about giving Arcanine thunder fang. Any opinions? Also strategies with Claydol would be appreciated.

The claydol builld is Utility With toxic as it's last move, though I might change it since I already have Thunder wave and will-o-wisp.

Re: My planned team (I'm totally new).

Try making Claydol the lead, get rid of Spiritomb, keep Registeel, and give Arcanine Thunder Fang.

claydol was my lead and spiritomb was replaced by it. As for an electric move what if i replace my kangaskhans earthquake with thunder punch? I say this because arcanine is weak to water giving it an electric move is only good for a desperate situation no?
