MY Pokéball Theory.

Okay, I was just randomly thinking about the machanics of Pokémon breeding while resting in my bedroom...and, then, somehow, came up with some kind of pokéball theory of my own afterawile (after swapping from breeding to the wateryness inside of water type pokemon...lol).

Well, it all started when I was thinking about how Water Type Pokémon shouldn't be outside their POKEBALLS much if there isn't any water around. Which, led me to think...

Maybe Pokémon HIBERNATE. Afterall, when you rest, yes, your body hold's on to body fat and stuff (soo you don't need to eat/drink at those times, thus explaining the survival of the water type pokemon). But, you see, the Pokémon may be kept inside these little balls for DAYS or even WEEKS and not try to get out at all, prehaps, sometimes, even YEARS, and, when you send them out, their in PERFECT HEALTH and EVERYTHING...as if they were FROZEN or something.

There's a scientific theory, and, many of you may recall seeing this in action in many cartoons, such as Spongebob Squarepants and Scooby Doo, too, that if you freeze a body a certurn way, you can preserve it for YEARS (in some ways, this is already proven, by animals that hibernate over the winter, while it's COLD...for as long as a good few MONTHS). However, it will also be un-responcive COMPLETELY the whole time it's frozen, leading to the next part...

When one is PARALIZED, they may be incapable of moving but may still be responcive to the world around them, and, there's a way in which one can get free and still...attack.

Normally, paralisis can be quite PAINFULL...but, what if, like freezing, it can be RELAXING, if done a certurn way?

Soo my theory is:

Inside the Pokéball, is FILLED with ELECTRICITY...that also feel's cold. At the same time, though, it is very cozy. When the Pokémon goes inside the pokéball, the cozy 'coolness' of the electricity makes them drowzy, and, they then go into a mild hibernetic and perserved state, and will not wake up to random noises around their surrondings. The ONLY time the monster will come out (usually, though there may be stubern/energetic ones like Psyduck, Skitty, or, Wobbufet that surpass this rule), is if their master call's out their name or throw's the Pokéball. The Pokémon will then feel a mild 'zap' twards it's ear and it will respond if it's trainer want's it to come out, thus, taking this as it's cue to break free from it's pokeball. Note that the Pokémon does NOT get hurt AT ALL in the process, and, if anything, probably feel's a bit stronger after breaking free from the Pokéball when the given moment come's. Maybe, some Pokémon may refuse to come out if they really dislike the trainer, but it's hard to say really.

And, thus, this is what my theory is on the Pokéball. I may have more, too...Does anyone, maybe, have a theory about how the Pokémon SHRINK DOWN to fit in the Poké/Monster ball, too?

I don't want to know why you were thinking about Pokemon secks alone in your bedroom, while "resting," but my theory is inside a pokeball it's a virtual world that adapts to the Pokemon's needs. The shrinking part, I don't know.

I like this theory, because it is better than my idea of a condominium that can shrink into the size of a cherry.

Ahh, I don't know, I was bored. XD I wasn't really thinking about the secks part, though...just how Pokémon inherite certurn egg moves and not others, lol

Ahh, that's intresting...but, then, wouldn't the Pokémon feel destracted or annoyed if the trainer were to call on it during a random dance party or something? (of course...not like it wouldn't be annoying to the pokemon with MY theory, too...with dreams and stuff).

My theory is more scientific, but, it IS a video game...soo, anything can go lol

More on my theory:

The electricity prevents the Pokémon from losing body heat, thus, it's out body fat will keep it's warm during it's rest, much like real hybernation. I bet the poor thing COULD feel a bit sweat-y upon coming out, though...lol

Wasn't there a Robot Chicken that went into this kinda thing? I hate Robot Chicken personally but I watched this just for a laugh. Pikachu's pokeball nightclub!

Well, my theory is that pokemon are converted to energy by the beam the poké ball sends out, and then is reconstructed when inside. There is a virtual reality projeter that constructs a home the pokemon would like.

But yours is good, too.

The thing is that during hibernation, the animal that hibernates USES the fat stores, it doesn't just hold on to it. That is why right after the animal snaps out of hibernation, it has to eat in order to replenish their fat stores.

I like the idea of pseudo-cryopreservation though.

I've always assumed that Pokemon enter a state of suspended animation when inside of their Poke Balls. They are in a state of cryonic sleep.

From what I've theorised, the Poke Ball "teleports" the Pokemon by transferring it into light energy, then sending it to a distant location where it can also be teleported back. Pokemon would have their own areas to live in the meantime, i.e. a Gible might live in a rainforest, a Wailord in the ocean, etc.

The only problem is storing all that energy to teleport the Pokemon...

I process involving some form of suspended state or hibernation sounds more plausable than most of the ideas I see. I like it.

I agree with this theory. Pokemon would still have the basic needs that any living creature would have, but merely enter a state of suspended animation when inside a Poke Ball. That would be the reason why the spend most of their time there, but still need to eat and all that.

As for how they enter, exit, and get PC-stored, just take it from your hometown fat guy: Technology is great! The Pokemon World can convert Pokemon into digital info (a Pokemon's physical composition would probably be the root of this process) for data storage.

Personally though, I think it's weird to think about how Pokemon procreate (HSoWA, anyone?). Let's just leave that dirty little secret with the old couple at the Daycare...

But not even they know. They act all suprised when your pokemon lays an egg. You'd think they'd notice when my Rapidash laid five eggs in a row. Speaking of her, she was with my infernape, so the ponytas would know flamethrower, flamewheel (since, in Pearl, they can't learn it via level up) and flare blitz when they hatched. I find it very weird that a monkey can mate with a horse 0_o;;;

Speaking of that, here's a quote from the Sonic the archie comics with a similar topic:

Bean [talking to Sonic]: Are you and the princess going to marry and have mutant hedge-squirrel babies?
Sonic: 0_0

Did I mention Bean is crazy?
