My wireless is broken

when ever i try to trade or go underground my wireless, although having 3 bars, cuts out and i get the error message a problem has occurred press a to go back to where you were" if I'm trading or if I,m underground it just freezes.

can you please suggest what my problem is and how i would go about fixing it? Thank you.

P.s. it's a DS lite. Don't know if that affects it in any way.

Have you ever tried to go underground on a different DS? Might be the system you're using.

Have you hacked the game at all? That tends to screw stuff up.
