Today, I got a TV for my birthday, so I was plugging in my Gamecube and N64. I plugged in my Gamecube fine, but when I was going to plug in my N64, I saw there were no more yellow inserts to put the N64 yellow prong in. But, there are 2 green inserts and a blue insert too. So, I was wondering if I could plug in the yellow prong into one of the other colors. Thanks!!!

My advice: Do it the easy way and take the back of the Gamecube cable and plug it into the back of the N64 when you want to play it, they use the same wire. :D If I'm right (Although I'm probably wrong) those would be the RF ports, used for plugging things into older television sets. If they are the RF ports, look online for "Nintendo 64 RF adapter" and buy one; the Gamecube has an RF adapter, so I'm sure the N64 does.

That's a pretty good idea, and my TV is a brand-new Samsung, so I don't think those are RF ports, unless your talking about the N64 :D

You know what, look in your owner's manual for the TV. It'll tell you what they are.

Mmmk, I have it right infront of me. The yellow is the "Video Out", while the red and white are "Audio Out" does this help??

Hmm, Audio Out? They won't work, thats for sound not video.

Hmm, that must not be the RF then. Just do it the easy way and use the back of the Gamecube A/V cable; they're the same for the GameCube, N64 and SNES.

You could try and find something to plug into the Yellow Port which turns it into a Double-Pronged one.

That's a darn awesome idea. The thing is, the yellow port is actually a green one (there is a yellow ring around it), but it can be both. Does this count for all of the green ones?? I just realized this -__-

I don't think so. Worth a try though. I know as a matter of fact the PS2 needs Component Ports, else there is no sound and is Black and White.

Sweet. I'll try that. About the PS2, would that work for imported ones?? I'm planning to get one soon, and it would be nice to have it on my TV.

Imported? What do you mean?

Like one from Japan. I have gotten alot of info, and so far, it will work with some of my TV, and definelty the eletrical Ouputs. I am still trying to see if it could. If you don't know, that's okay, I have plenty of time to get it :3

That would probably be on the Japanese Playstation site, but I can't read Japanese, I can't be bothered to translate it, and I think it's mostly in Flash anyways.

Theoretically it should work, because at least on the SNES Japanese games have NTSC encoding, and both Japanese video and NTSC video run at 60FPS (50 for PAL, so that won't work).

Like Guest said, the same cable would work for the three Nintendo consoles, I'm assuming you don't have that cable anymore? I didn't have it, but mine works fine and I can't remember for the life of me how. :/

I'll go do some dusting, digging and pull out the old N64 and take a look.

I got my N64 from a game shop by my house; it only came with the cables that it needs. I got my Gamecube from there also, so I'm pretty sure I don't have the cable -__- could you describe what it looks like??
