Which one of these consoles is better in your opinion and why?

I can't vouch for the N64, seeing as I never owned one, so I have to go with PS1.

I would say that some games were better on the PlayStation than the N64 based on some of the Disney games I've played like A Bug's Life and Toy Story 2. On the PS1 those games had CD quality music, more voice clips, and video clips to watch, while on the N64 they were notably more limited due to being on a cartridge and only had pictures with text in place of video clips (though Pokémon Puzzle League manged to have actual FMV cutscenes on the cartridge).

Out of the two, back when they made new games for them I prefered the N64 - it had more games I liked, it also had my favorite game back then (Conker's Bad Fur Day), the few games I had for the PS1 was Vigilante 8 and Driver 2 - they where fun but Conker was my main game back then (I didn't have any Pokemon games until 2004)

I've never owned a PSOne--I don't think I've ever touched a PSOne before, to be honest--but even if I did I'm a Nintendo fanboy at heart, so of course I'm gonna choose the N64.

I only started playing PS1 games recently on a PS2. While a lot of the games made for that system are great fun, I have to say the N64 beats the PS1. I guess you can say it's the nostalgia talking since I didn't grow up with anything Playstation related, but ignoring the nostalgic factor for a second, the N64 is a really solid system. It had a lot of fun, innovative games that took days (even weeks if you didn't cheat) to beat and it didn't require a memory card. While the cartridges are bulkier, you didn't have to worry about CDs getting scratched and ruining your game. The N64 console that I have owned for years still works to this day. You can tell it was built to last.

Graphically and multiplayer I give to N64.
Controller and sound for the most part go to PS1.

On the games it's a toss up depending on your preference. Some games that were on both systems were better on the N64 and some were better on PS1. Personally N64 exclusives far outweighed the PS1's and that's not a statement I make lightly. There are some STOUT games on the PS1. Though I cannot say the same thing the next generation after (PS2 wiped the floor with everyone - Microsoft and Nintendo).

SEGA Saturn.

Owning both consoles for equally long periods of time (I was a spoiled child), I'd say the Nintendo 64. I'd always go back to that more often then I'd go back to the Playstation, and we got the PSOne a lot more games then what we got with the Nintendo 64. Sure, the PSOne had the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon series, but I always enjoyed playing Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Episode I Racer, the Pokémon Stadium and Snap games, Mario Kart 64 and Super Mario 64 as much.

Not to mention those Zelda games. I dropped countless hours into them!

Ps One have better grafic, but N64 more fun to play *ok watched, back then I was rarely allowed to play games cause I was too slow to respond and kept wasting the precious heart*

Eh, don't worry about it, some of the games could be quite difficult (-stares at the Water Temple-)

Its a hard call for me since there were so many great games between the two and I grew up with both. I'd probably go back to the N64 given the chance even if its just to have wacky antics in Perfect Dark, James Bond games and Turok. Though I played more games on the PS1 that I still play today like Final Fantasy Tactics and Castlevania Symphony of the Night.
