So, What is Ash's Profession is called ?
In DP Series, Dawn mother Call Ash's profession as a ''Pokemon trainer''
But almost all the people who raise pokemon called pokemon trainer.
Even Pokemon Breeder & Coordinator like Brock & Dawn , So it can't be a appropriate name for Ash's profession.
So What should we call Ash Profession.
I come up with some name-
-1)Pokemon Battler :This the first name I thought cause Ash mainly Battle. However if I call Ash's profession ''Pokemon Battler'' then what should I call trainer like Misty , Iris & langley cause they too battle however they doesn't challenge Gym or Enter League conference.
-2)Gym challenger : I think of this name next because Ash mainly challenge's Gym. So it seem appropriate name for his profession. However Ash's main goal is to win pokemon league. There are Alternative way to enter pokemon league (Like Pokemon Tech). Also in future it might reveal that Gym leader themself can enter league conference. So ''Gym challenger'' may be a appropriate name for Ash's profession. It's not appropriate for a trainer who's goal it to win pokemon League & become a E4 Champion.
-3)League Challenger : I found this name from another post and I thought it might be more appropriate for Ash . League conference is a Tournament , Not some gym & Battle facility that Ash challenging. In here Ash face's random people so I reject the idea.
-4) League Trainer : A new name I found & I approve of this one. Pokemon Trainer who try's to enter league conference should be call ''League trainer''.
This the name I find.
So, What Should We Call Ash's Profession !

Whatever it is it definitely isn't School Boy...........................Wish summer vacation was eternal in the real world to XD

IMO, Satoshi's just a trainer. He doesn't do just Gyms, he's done Contests too.

he's always been classified as a "Pokemon Trainer".

This. Ash has always been a Pokémon trainer. Consistantly. He's been referred as that since EP001 and not anything else. I don't see why we should call it anything else since that's what it's called on the show and defines what he does. So yeah, we should call him a Pokémon trainer.

I've heard them call Dawn and May Pokemon trainers. I guess things like co-ordinator is just like a subtitle?

I think he'd be considered a "League Trainer," personally.

He's a Pokemon Trainer....

a rather dumb one, but still a Pokemon Trainer.

Pokemon Trainer is an adequate term to describe Ash's profession, because the most common form of Pokemon training is to battle them. So the term "Trainer" implies that the person battles with his/her Pokemon and Gyms and Leagues are just battles. They aren't specialist fields like Contests are, which involve trainers doing something completely different with their Pokemon, so it makes sense that these people are referred to by the specialist term "Co-ordinator". The same applies for Breeding, too.

ya, But basically all the people who raise pokemon call ''Pokemon Trainer''.
Even if they are Pokemon Breeder, Watcher, researcher, Type Specialist, Gym Leader. Coordinator and connoisseur.
We need a name for trainer who's main goal is enter Pokemon League & become E4 Champion or at least name for those trainer who travel around the world to collect gym Badge.

Why do we need a name? The anime, for nearly 15 years, has called him a Pokemon Trainer, and they've called every other person doing gyms and leagues Pokemon Trainers as well. The games, too, have referred to these people as a Pokemon Trainer.

To train a Pokemon is to capture, raise and battle a Pokemon. All gyms and leagues are just battles. It's not a specialist field, like Contests and Breeding are. Co-ordinators and breeders also "capture, raise and battle" Pokemon, which is why they are also referred to as trainers, but because they use their Pokemon in a different way, a specialist way, they are referred to by other terms.
