We're proud to announce that we've published our very first issue of National Bulbagraphic, Bulbagarden's own online magazine. You can check out Bulbabot's Blog for the official announcement, or click here to jump straight into our first issue.

National Bulbagraphic is always looking for new editors and writers, as well--if you're interested in the job, let us know! You can send a PM to evkl if you're interested in helping us out with the magazine. Our second issue will be released next month on September 15.

We hope you enjoy National Bulbagraphic--thanks for reading! Feel free to post any questions or comments you may have.

It was awesome!!

Suggestion:Add a column regarding competitive battling. It would be useful.(I can write for it if needed)

Smogon has a competitive battling magazine that they regularly publish if I recall, NB should find its own niche.

Just wondering, since this had been going around for a long time but never really taking off, so I may have actually forgotten the reason (because I remember at the time, I liked the idea), but what makes this any different from the columns on Bulbanews? Are the columns going to be moved there?

So I think one of the main cool features about National Bulbagraphic is its scope. We don't want to be a magazine about the anime or about shipping or any other specific topic. We're open to articles from all over the fandom and we want to showcase the fact that the fandom is a big place with lots of varied interests. In the next issue, we're looking to expand our content a bit and include a few of the things that were lacking in this issue.

If there's one mission of Bulbagraphic, it's to provide a variety of long-form, high-quality content on a regular basis. Bulbanews opinion articles do a similar thing, but it's like the difference between an op-ed page (News) and TIME magazine (Bulbagraphic.)

Eh, I liked this article, Bulbagraphic:A Globally Intriguing Experience (and it goes well with your "scope") and the Best Wishes / Team Rocket one was interesting and could be considered a little insightful.

Shipping, however, seems common to all anim/mang-iacs, and fans of any show or book on any specialized forum. (Not that the article on it was uninforming, but eh.)

Eh, I await the rest of the issues. (I may also apply for a position...)

One of the things that sets magazines apart from, say, books and newspapers is that they often include more pictures. If National Bulbagraphic is going to label itself as an online "magazine," it would be better if every article wasn't a giant wall of text, y'know?

If you guys need images from the TV series, I have the majority of episodes on DVD and will be happy to provide screenshots. I also have a lot of the manga if you guys ever plan to do any articles related to them.

Also, obligatory "the Rocket trio in Best Wishes is just as incompetent as they were before" comment.
