National Dex Question

To get the National Dex, you have to see all 150 Sinnoh Pokemon. My question is, does that include Palkia/Dialga? I have Pearl so I will eventually see Palkia, but my question is, will I have to go Wi-Fi just to see Dialga or will Dialga be at least recorded on my Pokedex as a Pokemon I saw?
 
*Spoilers* Not at all, just go to the town where you got the Surf HM and talk to the old woman who is in the northwest house and she will show you a picture of Dialga/Palkia and that will count as the data.
