Does anyone else agree that it might be a safe assumption to assign Chespin #650, Fennekin #653 and Froakie #656? The starters have ALWAYS been in grass-fire-water order, and the only time they haven't been first in the Regional Dex is Gen V with Victini

That's why I'd hold off on making that assumption. They could very well give us an event legendary that's at the top of the local dex again, like they did with Victini.

I'm still thinking the Original Dragon will make an appearance, and will be #000 for this gen and #650 national

Well with Victini, Im not willing to say Chespin will definately be first in the Pokedex, you never know. Unless we see differently however, Im seeing the the continuation of Grass>Fire>Water order though.

I think in the build up to Gen V (before Victini was announced), Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott were being listed 494, 497, and 500 everywhere, but after Victini, there's every chance they'll do it again.

My theory is that Genesect was originally a Kabutops. I mean seriously, it matches the description pretty well. Fierce hunter, prehistoric, etc.

I wouldn't be so sure about the numbers, seeing what they did with Victini. After all, Game Freak seems a bit more likely to break traditions and patterns nowadays (sequels). But I'm sure the order of the starters will still be Grass-Water-Fire.
